yes folks, we're from the government and we're here to help. You have nothing to fear... http://money.cnn.com/2009/06/05/news/companies/fdic_citigroup/index.htm?postversion=2009060506 The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. wants to move around top management at Citigroup, putting Chief Executive Vikram Pandit in a precarious position, according to a report published Friday.
Under the leadership of Chairman Sheila Bair, the FDIC encouraged another government regulatory committee to downgrade Citigroup's confidential rating within the government, allowing the FDIC more control over the firm, according to the report in Friday's edition of The Wall Street Journal.
The FDIC declined comment to CNN.
yikes!

Here's an article on the topic from one of my favorite blogs. The Inmates Run the Asylum from "The Bank Lawyers Blog."

"Sheila C. Bair, appointed by President George W. Bush, has been butting heads with Citigroup executives as well as with her counterparts at almost every other federal bank regulatory agency."
Oh, wait, this really is Obama's fault, right?

As an Ex C employee.
C problems can not be solved by someone with the only qualifications were running a failed Hedge Fund and a Ghairman who ran Time Warner into the ground. Let the goverment pick management and it will work just as good as GM. They needed to be broken up long ago. Sandy W. was also part of the problem. Give it back to John Reed or someone with real Banking exp.

Ed:
it's anecdotal from years ago....
with 300,000 employees there are screw ups
you can't paint all employees or all management with such a broad brush.....
that would be like saying all mods are biased, subjective partisan hacks.........
when if fact there is only one or two at most....
