Marketing would like to give the following to your account when opening a children savings account $5 to your school, $5 for making the HR, $5 on your b-day. Any restrictions? How about advertsing this?

We are wondering about the same thing. A school wants us to open the account for $1 and then donate a specific amount into the account based on points earned during the school year. Any issues here? Would it be better to donate a total amount to the school and let the school disburse to each student individually?
