We are having the Farm Service Agency tell us that we can't charge them a monthly service charge for providing them the periodic statement with copies of checks because they are a government agency (?). Have never heard this before and am thinking that all the other government agencies we deal with seem to have no problem on service charges and I'm coming up empty on the research. My thinking is to convert them to an account where they get their images online (then they can print them out and wha-lah, they have a paper image at no charge!). Any feedback would be great! If they are claiming there is some prohibition against your charging them fees just say you really appreciate knowing that and, if they can provide you with a reference to law or regulation, you will certainly read it.
