Does anyone know what, if any, restrictions exist on offering a CD Special strictly on a bank's web-site?!? Our marketing department has contacted me with this idea, but I'm still learning Internet advertising rules/regulations and wanted to check this out before giving them an answer. They would like to bump the rate up (web-site only).

Help! Marketing v. Compliance once again!!!!

On the Net
That would be fine.

Some years ago you'd hear of potential discriminatory practices in this area. But now there are so many people (54% according to the gov.) using teh Net and that have Net access, it shouldn't be an issue. You can also build the business case that product delivery is easier and more cost effective this way that the pricing is in line with the product costs.

So just as you could offer varying rates from branch to branch for varying reasons, Net rates can be different as well.
