I have located the 1994 inter-agency guidance for Independent Appraisal and Evaluation, as well as a related FIL from 2003.

Are there any other pertinent (or more recent)documents I should review to determine how our bank's appraisal committee should be defined? I'm looking for guidance on "who does what" and how to ensure that reviews are independent.

I'm taking the lack of response as an indication that the 1994 interagency guidance and 2003 FIL is sufficient for us to determine appropriate roles and responsibilities for our appraisal committee structure.

You might want the "FAQ on the Appraisal Regulations and the Interagency Statement on Independent Appraisal and Evaluation Functions" dated March 22, 2005. I keep it in my handy dandy Appraisal book for reference. It is FIL-84-2003 and OCC 2005-6. It is also helpful to have.
