Can anyone give me an idea of what type security logs are available or useful for review on windows NT? I need to monitor our network for security purposes. I am a security guy and am not familiar with alot of the features of NT. If anyone else is doing this type of monitoring and could give me some insight as to what to look for I would appreciate it. Also if anyone has used tools that would help automate this process I would like to hear about them. It would be much easier for me to look at a small report showing exceptions rather than trying to pick them out of a large report.

I'm not a Windows NT expert, but the Event Viewer (under Programs, then Administrative Tools) does provide several security logs. You can customize the settings somewhat, but I'm not aware of a way to print a report. I'm not sure if anything can be automated but if you monitor the logs on a regular basis, it should be manageable.
