No, I don't remember its name - something with an 'S'
They had a second snake, I think its name was Pasha.

We had a customer that would come in to cash his paycheck everyweek, and when he did he would bring our branch manager a statue of a clown (anywhere from 3-12 inches big). I thought that was a little creepy. This probably went on for almost two months before the guy just stopped coming in.

This was before I was in banking, but I worked for a now defunct home improvement store when I was 16. A co-worker saw a kid running around the lumber area and for whatever reason asked if he was my son. The kid was around 7 or 8 and I was 16. You do the math! GD, this reminds me of a time right after I got married. I was 21 and my husband was 20 at the time. I had graduated from college and was working at a local bank, and he was in his last year. We were at the deli counter of the local Kroger. A friend of ours worked there, also a college student. One of the other deli workers thought that I was my husband's MOTHER! Good grief. Sorry for the semi-hijack. It's okay.. my hubby & I are frequently mistaken for siblings! Back to the weirdness. I like this thread!

We had a customer sit down at a CSR's desk and cockroaches started crawling out of his sleeves! How's that for creepy?

We have a customer who brings his llama into the lobby of one of our branches quite often.
I could type weird things I have seen in my 23+ years of banking all day, but two that stick in my mind were both when I was assisting with repossessions.
The one was a Ford Escort that we were repossessing from an elderly customer who could no longer drive anyway. I opened the door and there was a huge brown dried stain in the driver's seat. I put down half a dozen towels and anything else I could find to drive that one back.
The second was a pickup truck that we took. The guy had been stockpiling garbage (like kitchen garbage) in the bed of the truck for months. There were tons of flies swarming the bed of this truck. I had to drive it nearly 3 hours back to the bank. It was fine as long as I stayed over 30 MPH - any slower and the smell would overtake the vehicle. You should have seen the dirty looks people were giving me as we would pass through towns and have to stop at stop lights! We had to hire a sanitation company to back a garbage truck up to the vehicle once we got it back and unload it.

I once went to repo a car and found the motor had just been rebuilt and was still hanging in a tree. The guys were kind enough to install the new motor and let me have it. No front seat though, had to sit on a 5 gallon bucket. I had a pig farmer who came in to see me about once a week. He always came in right after feeding the pigs. The smell was horrible and he tracked pig S**T all through the bank. We had just gotten a new bank President WHO told the man to get out and not come back in like that...the pig farmer withdrew his $650,000 and never came back. New President had to sign the check. Oops! I had a lady who refused to pay her house payment. She wrote out the check and kept it in her purse. I had to track her down each month and go get it. Funny...she drove rightby the bank every day going to and from work...why not just drop it in the drive-up? I eventually stopped going to get it and she stopped paying... I have hundreds of funnies from over the years (23)...the last repo trip...not so funny... I went to pick up a car and some furniture (back in day of UCC filings on personal property) and when I had the movers move in for the entertainment center, the woman drew a 38 revolver out of her pocket and proceeded to bump my nose with it. I got all that I went for but that was it...last repo trip!

Some of the weird stuff that I remember happening in bank lobbies involved people who truly had mental illness, so it's probably more sad than weird.
We had a woman who would come and sit in the waiting area and make speeches about how her husband was killed by the CIA and that his body was buried under her driveway. Everyone in town knew that this was not true.
We had an older woman would come in and start asking people standing in line to give her a hug. One day a man made the mistake of actually hugging her. When she asked for another, he gracefully declined. But she went bonkers and began accusing him of being unfaithful (and she didn't use family friendly language either). Eventually one of our loan officers who knew the woman was able to escort her out of the bank -- after giving the woman the cup of coffee the loan officer was drinking.

Off topic . . .
By Train - I used to use a similar story to your pig farmer when doing CRA training - or just training in general - that you can't judge anyone by their looks. In Louisville, KY every year they have a HUGE event called the 'Crusade for Children'. It raises millions to help fund things for mentally or physically challenged children. People will also leave money to the Crusade in their will.
Years ago, an elderly man had passed away and left the Crusade everything in his will. He lived in a one room house in rural Kentucky without electricity or running water. He left $750,000 for these children.
OK - story over. Thanks for your patience.

Skittles, I think there are a lot of people around like that. We had an elderly lady, never married, no children. She went through dumpsters all over town looking for clothes, purses, household items, you name it. She would bring in some of her treasures to show us. Anyway, when she passed away, her nephew discovered she had money (big money) in every bank in town.
Now, for a weird/funny story--used to work at a branch that was located near an apartment complex that was subsidized housing. There were several residents there who were mentally challenged, and many did not drive. Our bank was an easy walk for them, so a lot of them banked with us. This young woman, we think, was schizophrenic. She came in one day over the lunch hour. I was working the drive up and there was one lobby teller, and there were no other customers except for her. She proceeded to tell us that she was going to be a huge country singing star, because when she listened to the radio, the people on the radio "talked to her" and they told her so. Then she leaned right into the lobby teller's face and belted out a country song that she wrote at the top of her lungs. (It was actually better than I expected!) I had to just turn around and face the drive up lane so I wouldn't crack up!

Okay, I have one more story for this thread. . .it fits in the weird/gross category! I think I probably shared this in a similar thread a while back. We had a lady in her late 60s or early 70s, very grandmotherly type of lady, who worked part time for us at the new accounts desk. One day this guy came in to open an account. The whole time he sat there--how shall I put this--one of his hands was very occupied in his lap. When he finally left, there was a bodily fluid on the front of that desk.

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line

The absolute creepiest experience was - when I worked in Pensacola the "black widow" was one of our customers. She was the one who murdered all of her husbands and drowned her parapalegic son for the insurance money. Our bank was in a mall and her nail salon was also in the mall. She was so strange the tellers refused to help her and would always call me to the front to help her with her issues. Her then fiance was also our customer - poor man. She posioned him and when that didn't work her son planted explosives in his car and he was never the same - didn't die but it was awful. When we went in to foreclose on the home it was the filthiest mess I can ever imagine anyone living in.
We were all somewhat relieved when she was found quilty and sent to prison.
