First of all, in the most polite way possible, I would suggest before someone makes fun of you, don't call it an iTouch. It's an "iPod touch." Second of all, Welcome to the Social! (Just kidding.) Congratulations. I have an iPod touch and I really love it, although I'll be giving it up for an iPhone in a couple of months when my T-Mobile account runs out. First of all, you know that you need a wi-fi connection to access the internet, right? My favorite iPod/iPhone applications in not particular order are: 1. Ambiance 2. Bloom 3. Evernote 4. Notebook 5. iNews 6. Classics 7. Eucalyptus 8. i.TV 9. Sol Free 10. The Weather Channel 11. EZ News 12. Facebook 13. AppMiner 14. iBird 15. At Bat Lite 16. Pandora 17. Last.fm 18. Wolfgang's Concert Vault 19. Notebook 20. To Do 21. wikiHow 22. Wikipanion I have a lot more, but those are the ones I use the most, except for the Safari, Mail, App Store, and other apps that come with the device.

I forgot about I Can Haz Cheezburger.
I tried really hard to get Stanza to work, but I never could get the books to transfer correctly. I gave up and now I use Eucalyptus and it works great.

The movies are usually more than a gig each, so you can't just keep it full of flicks all the time without removing old ones and adding newer ones.
And be careful with those dvds with digital copy movies, they have DRM that locks the copy to ONE device, so if you put the movie on your wife's touch, you can't add to yours later without going through alot of hassle. It's better to google and learn how to rip movies from discs without drm problems, it will also save money in the long run.

We get cartoons and Sesame street all the time, they are great for car rides! They must compress them. The Barnes and Noble reader, you actually have to have an online B&N account. You buy the books online, then get on the itouch and read them. But I don't understand why the books cost what they do. I just got an ebook for $9.00. But I could have bought the paperback copy for $6. There's no overhead, or is there?, so I don't understand the cost structure enough. It's a new app for me and I am still playing with it.

She really just wanted Twilight movie on there (bleh) and was wondering if the iTunes one would be under a gig.. If iTunes sells movies?

Yes, itunes sells movies and tv shows and apps through the itunes store. The movies are drm'd, but you get to put it on each device linked to that version of itunes i beleive.
