I have looked for an example on how to do this, but I am having no luck. We have a customer who is depositing 20000.00. The deposit consists of non local checks totaling 10000.00 and local checks totaling 10000.00. We are wanting to place a large deposit exception hold. I know you have to give 100.00 next day availability on the aggregate amount. 4900.00 is available on the 2nd business day. Does that 4900.00 satisfy the requirements of the first 5000.00 available on the normal time schedule for the entire deposit? Or do I have to make another 4900.00 available on the 5th business day to satisfy the non-local checks. Please help clarify this for me!!

You do not have to make $4,900 available twice just because you have local and non-local checks. Two options:

$100 next business day
$4900 2nd business day
$5000 7th business day
$10000 11th business day

-or-

$100 next business day
$4900 5th business day
$5000 11th business day
$10000 7th business day

You can mix and match the local and non-local dollars any way you want. One appoach would be:

Next day $100 (local checks)
2nd day $4,900 (local checks)
7th day $5,000 (local checks)
11th day $10,000 (non-local checks)
