We still return canceled checks to all types of business account customers. We are trying to get with the times...but the question is whether or not we have to give business accounts back their canceled checks because they are a business. We will not be doing Imaging at this time. I do realize we have to give notice before stopping this. Is there some type of regulation on this?

Any help will be appreciated.

We do not image and we do not return checks to our business customers. We eased into it gradually by asking for them to volunteer for this first. Then we turned them all off with the exception of those who had to have the checks for audit purposes and those who felt they absolutely had to have their checks. These cusotmers are charged a fee to get their checks.

One group to watch out for is attorneys and law firms with IOLTA accounts. Check the state IOLTA rules to see if they require the attorneys to get checks or check images from their banks.
