We just came thru a compliance audit and one of the suggestions presented to us was - we needed an audit schedule for all the consumer regulations (deposit and loan sides). Does anyone have a schedule/calendar they would be willing to share? I am having no luck finding what I need. My email address is jbritt@thefarmersbank.net
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

The first thing you need to do is perform a risk assessment for your institution. Your audit schedule should be based on the individual risks that are identified at your bank. Someone else's schedule is not going to do much good.

Who made this recommendation? Did they not talk about a risk assessment?

We were pretty told the same thing by FDIC - so much for risk based auditing

Yes, risk assessment is a must to determine where the most critical audits fall. What we do at the end of each year for the upcoming year is first list all audits which are required, this is a must, then work from the risk assessment to determine which audits will fill up the rest of the year then break this down to individuals.

Any chance I could get this to? I understand we will need to risk rate our bank but having a list of all regs would be helpful.

I would start with your regulator's consumer compliance manual, for example:

I started with the Alphabet Soup link on the Home page. I divided the regs into their subsections, though, and ranked risk in different sections of the regulation.

ICBA Compliance Working Papers has risk assessment matrices for compliance management, lending compliance, BSA, Operations and some others that are fairly simple to use. I also have something similar as required by our State regulators that assesses and scores risk to help me determine how frequently an area should be audited.
