I can't wait for this movie to come out. I love zombie flicks, especially funny ones! Which, I guess they all are when you think about it...So far, the trailers and commercials for it look good!

Ever since I saw Night of the Living Dead for the first time, it's the most reoccurring dream I have: Me and a few other people trying to survive the Zombie Apocalypse in a location that's familiar to me. It's been school, offices, places I've worked or lived, or stores I've visited.

They're usually fun, a bit gory, and I usually wake up just before the zombies get me. I only remember one or two times where I've woken up and me and a few survivors were in a place of relative safety. Good times!

I can't wait until this weekend!

The amusement park scenes in that movie were actually filmed here (not 'here' at the bank, but 'here' in this town grin) and they used a lot of local college & high school kids as extras.

I think Woody Harrelson in a Zombie movie is going to make it so much better. This is actually a movie I'd go and see...

I recommend the book World War Z - it's oral history of the zombie apocalypse. Very good read.

I heard somewhere that the plot for Zombieland was that Woody Harrelson is out searching for the last twinkie. If that's true, it's hilarious.

On a side note, isn't that the same kid from Adventureland? Did he just stay in the same amusement park and they just added a bunch of zombies?!

FBH, i'm with you this movie looks incredible! You can't go wrong with zombies in movies, if they would have thrown some in with Gone with the Wind, or Pride and Prejudice i would have gladly stayed awake and watched them with my wife.

No, but I've seen some of the prints on the internet. Looks cool. Haven't read a comic book since Watchmen - I think in the 80s...And when I re-read it for the movie this summer.

Kinda like when you put Nicholas Cage in a movie, the movie automatically becomes terrible.

And it stars the bartender from Cheers?

How funny. I get home and check my email to find a free ticket to the screening of Zombieland on Thursday. I already made plans. Actually, I had tickets to The Invention of Lying for tonight but wasn't interested.

You can search for tickets in your state to see if they're available. I think you just have to be one of the first to sing up for the tickets and get to teh theater early. I'm serious about early, because 30 minutes isn't enough.

I beg to differ - Costner makes good baseball movies and westerns.

Baseball:
Bull Durham
For Love of the Game (Sorry - baseball fan...good movie, even if a little chick flicky)
Field of Dreams

Westerns:
Silverado
Open Range
Dances with Wolves

No, Pa. I was at an Oktoberfest kickoff dinner and ended the night at a dive bar. Keep in mind we're in a different time zone here, so when it seems I'm posting after midnight, it's actually after 11 p.m. smile

drinking German beer, going to sleezy bars and then coming in and waking us up, even though it is only after 11 p.m. is ok in your book?

Look, I'm just a biochemist. Most of the time, I work in a little glass jar and lead a very uneventful life. I drive a Volvo, a beige one. But what I'm dealing with here is one of the most deadly substances the earth has ever known, so what say you cut me some FRIGGIN' SLACK?

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
The Tallahassee TV station reported this morning, that FSU has procedures in their Disaster Recovery Plan to deal with flesh-eating, life impaired individuals! One of their staff decided to lighten things up a bit and include what to do in the event of zombies in their plan! What a hoot!

I saw Zombieland last night - it was freakin' hilarious! The laughed none stop for the first 20-25 minutes! It may sneak into my top 5 zombie flicks of all time!

Alright saw it Saturday night. It was good for a laugh, but still graphic enough that no children should be watching it IMO. But definitely good for a laugh.

Probably why it was rated "R" in the first place...The cameo in it was great, but I'm not say anymore - I don't want to spoil it.

I thought it was pretty good. 2 things really bothered me though:

1. Columbus seemed like the cheap version of a Michael Cera charachter. I'm thinking the director wrote the part with him in mind but couldn't case him for whatever reason.

2. It really, really, seemed like a mediocre American version of Shawn of the Dead.

Shawn of the Dead is tough to beat...Great zombie flick!

I really liked it. Maybe I was just in a weird mood when I saw it, but I laughed my a$$ off for the first 20-30 minutes or so...Plus, the way they included the rules text througout the movie was pretty cool - kind of like "Fringe."

There were some slow parts, but overall, I thought it was a good movie. Not enough zombies though, and I'm more of a classic slow zombie fan versus running zombies. I mean, I don't like runnning now, why would I once I became a zombie?!?!?

The rules were great. That was probably the funniest part of the movie.

I can't wait for World War Z. The book was amazing.

I hope they do that movie right...The book was awesome! I also listened to the audiobook this summer. If they used that as the basis for the movie, I could live with it. Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) did the voice for the soldier from the "Battle of Yonkers." Great voice cast, even though it was abridged!

Don't sayu anything beyond the rules thing or you spoil it for th other BOLers. Suffice it to say though, that absent the dark humor, it would have been a good horror movie too.

I saw it yesterday and really really liked it. It was definitely up there with Shaun of the Dead. That kid is definitely like Michael Cera but I still enjoyed it.

The cameo was great. Did anyone stay until after the credits?

Did you see the trailer for the new Nightmare on Elm Street? Kelly Leak is the new Freddy Kreuger. Looks good....

Yes, I think this remake will be alot darker because there will be no humor involved as in the other Nightmare flicks.

I just ordered all 8 of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies; the 8th being Freddy v. Jason from Amazon for $20. I haven't seen them in a long time.

Its definitely Halloween season!

Wal-Mart has great bargin bins that you can buy tons of movies for $3.00 - $10.00.

I saw Zombieland over the weekend and it's exactly like the trailers portray it. It was a fun little zombie flick.

Haven't read through this thread, but I think most all of that movie was done at the theme park with some of downtown used as well...and it's supposed to be a small town in CA...talk about extreme ends of the continent!

I remember some of the pictures in the papers during auditions...it was pretty funny watching people try to be a zombie.
