However, some grocery store brands do have a lot of alchohol in them that will dry out your scalp and hair. (don't go drinking it)

i had a hair stylist tell me that one time too, but she said you could use a "clarifying" shampoo and conditioner from WalMart and it would get the job done just as well.

Don't take any advice from the Hap, he doesn't have enough hair to qualify him to make an opinion.

A. How hot? 1 - 10. 7.5 B. Boyfriend? How serious? dating couple of years C. See A. If she had more of Megan Fox's features, I'd have probably bought some and I'd kick the BF to the curb.

Unless she has an unbelievable personality and the BF is treating her badly or is half way out the door, probably better to take a pass on it.

Before I started shaving my melon this summer, I liked American Crew. It's expensive, but they use actual ingredients like plant extracts and stuff, without all the chemicals.

doesn't matter what shampoo Pale uses, the Brylcreem always leads to waxy buildup...
I think I use Suave at home, a bottle lasts me about 1 year...and with a very close cut, there is no room for waxy buildup!
Oh, and real men go to barbers, not "stylists!" Please return your man-card...

Trust no one here but me, BOLs token Cosmetology student!
Your stylist is right to a degree--grocery shampoos are nto good and use a lot of chemicals that are essentially nto good for your hair. As far as a waxy build up--that's onyl if there's wax in the product. But they CAN leave other build-up.
The cheap and simple solution to try once a month: You can add just a little baking soda to your shampoo (nto the whoel bottle, just whatever you need for a wash) and instantly make it a clarifying shampoo that will nix any build up. One of our beauty school teachers got a masters in Chemistry and actually had helped Joico create products.
The more expensive but long term solution: Buy decent, salon grade products. Even better, go for one that is sulfate free (yes, you pay a premium for this). Personally, I do NOT liek Paul Mitchell shampoos and I've heard other people say the same. Purology is very spendy but a really nice shampoo and it's concentrated--a little goes a long way. But Redken and American Crew and even Bed Head by Tigi make men's lines.

What's the consensus on products geared toward animals? Like Mane & Tail? Just seems weird to me... Gimmicks! Human hair is a very different texture form horse hair. Equate it to any other grocery brand.
