Riding along the Coast
I'm looking for some feedback as to how other banks handle customer request or bank request Account Type Changes. For instance, customer is abusing the Savings or Money Market transaction limits or the customer requests to change their account type.

Currently, we use a Account Type Change Request Form and have the customer(s) sign a new signautre card. We are juggling the idea of just getting the Account Type Change Request Form signed by the customer and mailing the new disclosures for the new account type to them.

Any ideas or suggestions?

We never got anything signed by the customer. We provided the appropriate account disclosures along with the cover letter explaining the account conversion (and that by continuing to maintain the account, they were agreeing to conversion and new rules). I also like to mark the signature card or account notes with reason for change and date of disclosure mailing.
