The simple truth is, she should have known better, and a couple of minutes with someone else checking your child for knives, guns, bombs, etc. is not a terrible thing when you are going to fly. BUT there was no reason for the TSA agent to ignore published TSA policy and walk away from the mother. Would you be comfortable with a TSA agent walking away with your baby without asking you or giving you a chance to object? You've obviously--and thankfully--never had one of your kids molested by a pervert before, have you? It kind of gives you a different outlook on life, especially when some arrogant fool assumes it's the parent's fault when something bad happens to their kids.
