So apparently those of us that say it's a blog and perhaps isn't a trustworthy source DO actually have a point. Start using your brain, bro! Of course you DO actually have a point. However (and I may be wrong) the context of your statement seemed to me to imply that we shouldn't believe the story at all until it was proven true because not all blogs are a trustworthy source. The same thing can be said about any issue from any source. For example, the story about the Justice of Peace who declined to perform a marriage for an interracial couple. Did anyone stop to ask whether or not this story was true because not all news sources are trustworthy?

Do you guys ever get tired of fighting? Yes. I'm tired right now, so this is my last post on the thread. What ever happened to "make love not war"? I don't think that policy has ever really been successfuly implemented anywhere on the face of the Earth. You are entertaining to a degree and passionate that's for certain. Bad?...no.....predictable...YES! Oh, I'm predictable, am I? That hurts.

you dont know straw if he followed them or not, you only know what was written in the blog!! Just like in here, people can view the same situation is two different ways I am saying that the policy says one thing, you were defending the action he may have took (even though we don't know what he really did), despite the fact that the action you are defending (again even though he may not have really done this) belies the policy. You also said that sometimes you can't follow the policy. I am just saying that your reflexive reaction to defend the officer, without knowing the facts, is the same as the reflexive reaction to bash the officer without knowing the facts.

I know and I respect it. But sometimes, they are wrong. Not often, and not saying that is the case here. The policy is written to try to minimize any disturbance this may cause.
I can tell you my family had to travel in April 2002 through JKF. Security was much tighter then and my daughter was 18 months old.
The officers insisted that she walk through the metal detector by herself. We had not set it off, but they said they had to have go through on her own. I asked if I could hold her and go through and if it went off, we could try to get her to go through. They were insistent, even though she was clearly scared and at 18 months, you can imagine that if you let her walk, she might go anywhere.
So of course, she did not walk through right away, they start getting angry, my wife is yelling and I am just standing there with my head in my hands thinking this scene was completely avoidable with a little flexibility that would not have compromised security.

i see a lot of parents, where one will walk thru first and then the child and then the other parent. I fly a little thru the year but my kids fly about 8-10 times a year and I have to go thru security with them. I have never seen a real problem, except maybe the way some of the food vendors get thru.

That said, where'd he go with the kid? To a table to check him out? Could she still see him? If he took him to a room, WRONGO and lawsuit time. If not, cut the guy some slack and remember to take the dang thing off next time.
Actually, the TSA agent did remove the child from Nic's line of sight. He never once told her what he was doing nor did any of the other agents. And the baby is 18 months old. How is it her fault that he was taken from her in an airport? Have you forgotten what it's like to have a squirmy toddler in a public place, Truff? Where is your evidence that the child was taken out of her sight?

No, not the pacifier itself. The metal was the clip that holds the pacifier and attaches to the shirt so it doesn't get lost.

Where is your evidence that the child was taken out of her sight? OK, one more post. I think Moo said she actually knows the woman who this happened to, so she may be getting firsthand from the person involved who you think is obviously lying to make herself look good. (Because that's what you would do, right?)
