Yes, many marines are respectful. However, there are stereotypes that marines are very hot headed and think they are invincible. Imo, this guy proved that stereotype. Was he a marine AG? If so, I didn't realize that.

Anyone else think Robert is a tool this year? I liked him last year but he seems like a jerk this year

Don't know what to think about Robert. I missed part of the show last night. Did he go up in one of the planes?
I see that the EMTs are called in next week, and Robert's taken to the hospital. Wonder if this will be another hyped up preview with the show a lot less exciting. Don't want anything to happen to Robert, but . . .

Something about Robert is bothering me this season as well. Although, I definitely am pulling for the guys team over the girls this season.
I can hardly stand anyone on the women's team, especially Tenielle (sp?) and Suzanne.

He was dressed for the flight-not sure if he did or not-
He did well in the challenge, but it seems like he freaks out next week and heads to the hospital... I don't think he can handle the stress level.

Missed all but the very end of the show last night. What happened with Robert?

Guys lost the challenge-each team had to come up with an app, entree and desert totalling 700 or less calories. As a punishment, they had to prep both kitchens which included them getting on a 6 person bike and heading to the market for some supplies. Robert, being in such good shape, got back and was feeling dizzy, etc so once again he was shipped off to the ER.
During service, each side was awful-Tenille, AKA Whoopi, went at it with chef...

Having them cook low cal meals and other dietary dishes is a great challenge.

Can someone explain to me why they made Robert get on that bike and pedal up a hill, knowing full well he has heart disease like that? Does that seem smart to you? I mean I know he probably has a choice, but would the show really want that liabiltiy? Seemed pretty stupid to me...

My wife thought that was out of line as well, but I guess they are all in it together. I assume the "punishments" are decided ahead of time. I don't think it would be fair to exclude him due to his health/weight. He should have thought about that before coming back. He had been there before.

Exactly Sox.
I'm actually surprised they make exceptions for him not being at service. I say if you're not there, then goodbye! They made too many exceptions for him last season and now things are carrying over into this season. It's not fair to the other chefs who are there every service!

Given his brush with death last year, I would have thought he'd get in shape, or at least lose some weight.

Agreed Sox, it drives me crazy when he gets mad and starts complaining about almost dying last year. If it's bad for your health you need to quit. Don't stay, and when things don't go your way, pull the health card.

That bugs me, too. Especially given that he still smokes and works in a high-stress industry.

Have you noticed that almost all of them smoke - I would think that would dull or deaden your taste buds.....

I think it would be an intersteing experience to be on a reality show of some sort but imagine they get wicked bored. Aren't they cut off from society completely? No tv, radio, or newspaper? All they can do is sit around and talk to each other. I get the structure...it makes the environment more volitile because they're forced to discuss things. Which makes it more enjoyable for me when confrontations arise.

Anyone watch last night? I saw something very interesting and am wondering if anyone else saw it (I confirmed through the magic of TIVO). I saw Tek in the background when Gordon was yelling at one of the ladies towards the end of service. What was she doing there after being kicked out a few weeks earlier? Do the ones that are booted stay to help? I know on these shows the contestants that get booted have to stay until the show is over, but I thought this was interesting.

A storm took out my satellite signal at 8:45 last night. Can anyone give me a quick recap of the end of the show, pretty please?

Challenge-the blindfolded taste test. Women win-they go out to eat with Ramsey to a restaurant where you eat in total darkness. Men have to prep the sorbet to be served at dinner-unload the fruit from the truck, and Danny had to sort the berries-a huge pile of 3 different berries.
Service was typical-both sides messing up-men finish-women mess up terribly at the end. Sabrina undercooked lamb and Ramsey made her take it out to the dining room and eat it. Tenille puts up Sabrina and Suzanne (who had messed up and really ticked them off). Ramsey tells Amanda to join the 3 and ends up booting her.

I heard a new twist this week, Gordon Ramsey got mad and yelled at someone. He often sweared too.

Thanks, Sox. I was able to watch most of the service and am surprised Suzanne survived the cut. She was awful!
