I just received this email and thought I'd share it with my fellow BOLers. Icons, Inc. had a speaker at a recent compliance seminar that I attended:

"WWW.Bankinfosecurity.com is a new website about Information Security and Privacy for Community Banks and Credit Unions. Icons, Inc. has developed this site to provide information, news, and an online community for their financial institution clients. Much of the content of the site is available without registering as a user, however registering (which is free) will allow you to participate in online discussions and see additional information that you may find useful.

Information Security within the financial sector is becoming more and more important as the government imposes regulations and customers demand that their information be protected. The task of meeting regulations and customer
demands with regards to information security can seem like a daunting task.
This site is aimed at explaining the role of information security within the financial sector in hopes of educating and easing the management of the information security process.

I hope you visit the site and find the information helpful!

Regards,

Christine Davis

I received the e-mail, too. I did a D&B and the company is a small firm called "icons" with a New Jersey address and which is funded from India. You go to the website, they grab your cookies, then they haunt you to death with e-mails and pop-ups.

Geez Maria!!! What have you guided us to? The first article is on "penetration testing technical briefing". That almost did not make it past the bank's "parental controls".
