I looked at ESPN 360 but didn't see it listed?

And that really bothers me. If there are two days that retailers should be closed it's Thanksgiving and Christmas. Now store brag that they're open on both.

I'll have to disagree with you. The movies are open on Christmas and it's a very successful day. Many movies even open on Christmas day!

Yeah, I can't lie, I've done 2 Christmas day movies. But does Kmart/Walmart/Target need to be open on Christmas Day? My husband is a manager for a local gas station/convenience store and even they are closed on Christmas Day (he is working Thanksgiving though).

Well, I guess in theory every religion doesn't celebrate Christmas so the stores could be open for them. But I do, in fact, think they should be closed.

When I worked at Shopko PT, I always worked on Thanksgiving. I was one of the few people even in the store - it was beyond dead!

I know that my mom has to work tomorrow, but she's in the bakery department at a grocery store - it's only a partial day for them.

I agree that most businesses should be closed for the main holidays. The Kohl's that I worked at in college only closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and when the Packers went to the Super Bowl. And that was the only time I ever got off during that long stretch of winter. Retail employees work hard during the holidays, give them time with their families too!

I have always said I would not want to be in retail sales at Christmas. They work late on Christmas Eve and have to be back at the crack of dawn the day after.

Peepers doesn't think Chippendales has enough meat, and DD Regs woudl go for Chippendales if he couldn't get a buck.

I am working today and Friday. Don't mind so much, because I am close to the hospital in case my FIL takes a turn for the worse. The hospital is 45 mins from home but 10 mins from work. We're trying to decide where to eat Thanksgiving...hospital cafeteria or Luby's! My mom IS making pies, though! She's a good one!!

A Happy and Safe Thanksgiving to all!!

I don't necessarily think stores should close on Christmas. I think it's a "religous specific" holiday and since not everyone worships the same, the stores should stay open. Now, the day that I think all stores should be closed on is Labor Day. I mean, isn't the whole point of that day? It was created to give "a day off for the common working man." I always thought it was weird to see businesses open for that day.

I am off on Friday to SHOP!!! This is the first year I have taken the whole day off. I usually get up early, hit the sales and get to work a little late and drag all day. This time I'll be back in bed snoozing after I run out of money! grin

It doesn't look like anyone is here today. Is there anyone out there?

I was supposed to be off but decided to work and take a day later in December. There is absolutely no one here at our Main Office. Today and Monday are the worst days of the year.
