Merry Christmas. I also call it a Christmas Tree, not a holiday tree. If I know the individual is jewish, then Happy Hanukkah. All the pagans I know are in the closet, so I don't wish them a Happy Solistice in public.

On a side note, I don't have a belt buckle for Christmas, unless you count the programmable LED. I wonder if someone sells a mistletoe buckle?

I make it a point to say Merry Christmas if I know it will offend someone

Interesting - all the pagans I know either say "Happy Yule" or return whatever greeting is offered them with a smile. I use "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Yule" unless I know the person I'm speaking to has a different preference.

Honestly...most folks I know don't really care what you say as long as you say it with a smile and friendly intent.

Actually, if we wanted to be really accurate and true to the reason why we celebrate anything on December 25th, we would be saying "Happy Winter Solstice!" That's really the reason for the date, the decorated tree... wink Yes, I am being a smart-a$$.

I use both. I am always around a very diverse group of people and so I will always wish them to have a happy holiday that they celebrate. I always send out Christmas cards with "Merry Christmas" on them, but my Jewish friends will get a separate card for Chanukah and my Muslim friends will get wishes for a happy Ramadan. It doesn't bother me to be "PC" when it comes to the December celebrations.

Yeah, I know. This is why I usually don't. Unless it's my mother, I love to ruffle her feathers. Especially on Christmas Eve... LOL

We usually have a Solstice bonfire & invite a few friends over for a cookout & drinks. It's a handy way of celebrating with friends (most of whom don't even realize it's Solstice) without getting in the way of family obligations on the 24th or 25th. I'm a bit ticked that it falls on a Monday this year.

That's true.

Is your avatar of those characters who do the dancey dance? I love the episode with Leslie Hall. <glitter hands, glitter hands, laser beam, laser beam, razzle dazzle, razzle dazzle>

if a de-humbugger has anything resembling a tractor seat, you may want to avoid it
