"President Obama said Tuesday that a "systemic failure" on multiple levels allowed a passenger to board a Detroit-bound flight armed with explosives last week.

He said information about the terror suspect was not properly shared among intelligence agencies, but should have landed him on a no-fly list well before he boarded the Northwest Airlines flight in Amsterdam.

"The warning signs would have triggered red flags and the suspect would have never been allowed to board that plane for America," Obama said. "A systemic failure has occurred, and I consider that totally unacceptable.""

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/12/...t-board-flight/

He went on to state that the security system his administration inherited was in complete disarray and he would like to remind everyone of the historic and unprecedent crises his administration has had to endure. He also stated that his administration should not be criticized for its work in trying to clean up this inherited mess.

Ok, the last paragraph is mine and not part of the statement, but would you be surprised if something like this statement is made in the not too distant future.

Also, it only took 4 days for the administration to admit was obvious from the the beginning.

oh my, you had me there!!!

I fell for this harder than for the joke.....

sadly, the reality is that this bunch does not take security seriously, thinking it a matter of a police action....

I would not be surprised to see the underwear bomber tried in a civil court.....

If he'd quit shoving stuff down his underwear, maybe his areas wouldn't be so sensitive

Totally believable as something he would say, though.

If that means that everyone who voted for Obama was sucked into believing in a person of no real substance and/or experience, then yes.

I was just making the observation that 4 or 8 years ago when similar things were said about President Bush it was labelled "Bush derangement syndrome."

No, those who criticized Bush and called him a war criminal were patriotic and exercising their constitutional rights.

Those that criticize Obama are racist, facist, fear mongers, violent, nazis, etc.

Maybe people will realize that next time they should really understand what type of "change" a candidate is wanting to do. Change can be good or bad.

Also imagine what the Dems would be saying about Bush if he was vacationing in Hawaii during these times and the recent terrorist event.

They won't...the Democrats have succeeded in creating a largely lazy, shiftless rabble that mainly exists, like cattle, to be milked for their votes every couple of years.
