alright, I will overlook the flip flops...but how come no one has mentioned the coffee jar as essential?

We had to get a bigger coffee jar to hold those stinkin' single serving cups!

Oh, yea, I use the Keurig as if it's an extension of my arm, so I didn't think about it that way grin

We just use the boxes that they come in, tear off along the dotted line and stack them in the cupboard. When we are having guest over, we put an assortment in a Longerberger basket on the counter.

I've been telling my employees here that I've hosted/been to enough retirement, wedding and baby showers in the 18 years I've worked here. I need the "I've been married almost 19 years and need new stuff" Shower! grin

Inside the house:
Burr grinder (for coffee)
French press (coffee)
Caraffe (coffee)
An aside: This is the best coffee setup I've ever used- I got it for Christmas this year from a friend and now coffee at home is the best coffee I've ever had. The downside is that now work coffee tastes like hot mud cry
Cookie sheets
Unglazed quarry tiles (I don't need no steenking pizza stones for $29.99, I'll get quarry tiles from home depot for $0.99/sq ft!) permanantly in the oven
8 qt all clad stock pot
10" cast iron skillet (slicker 'n snot on a doorknob)
10" stainless steel straight-sided sautee pan from the 1930's my grandma gave me smile
8" non stick skillet (used pretty much exclusively for eggs)
5qt cast iron dutch oven
roasting pan, annodized aluminum
12" skillet I never use
cooling racks
electric hand mixer
mini food processor
10" Carbon steel chinese vegetable cleaver that is so sharp I could probably cut off my thumb and not feel it
12" Stainless steel chef's knife from a restaurant supply store, similar sharpness
10" Serrated knife
Electric knife
Serrated and straighted edged paring knives
16" X 20" Butcher block cutting board that my lovely wife gave me for last christmas smile
Blender
Toaster
Mandolin (that I never use)
7" Forschner Fibrox utility knife (great and cheap too)

Outside:
Massive 4 burner propane grill that can get up to 850 degrees F (this is outside but if it's summer I'm cooking on it)
Weber Charcoal standard grill
Homemade smoker rig cool

I love my kitchen.

Lol. Me too, but that's probably because grandpa always carved the turkey with one at Thanksgiving.

Mine is slightly more high-tech looking though cool

F'realz! I love mine- they have this artificial sharpness that comes from the electric motor.

And on another psychological level I think it reminds me of a lightsaber!

I went to Macy's home today on my lunch, no decent roasting pans to be found. There was a Caphalon but it was too small and it had the non-stick surface.

I applaud your shopping local, because that's where the jobs are!

But you may have to get your roasting pan online.....

BnS, mine has the non-stick surface and I haven't had problems with it in the oven or on the stove.

I think that's what it is (though my dad always carved the turkey - g-pa was too "busy" with watching football). That and the lightsaber thing smile !

I'm a scratch cook and I cook real meals most every day. I hate non-stick cookware and plastic utensils. After replacing frying pans twice, I'm going back to stainless or if I can ever find them again, porcelain on steel. I had a set of my grandmother's that between us we used for decades!

Electric knife is my husband's toy. I love my Cutco knives.

My fav kitchen tool is the Viking four burner gas range with the griddle in the middle and double ovens. Chicago cooks with gas but when we moved here, it was electric. I used it in our first two houses but when we moved here 12 years ago, the dryer was gas so he switched the stove for me. It cooks ssssoooooo much better than electric!

I have the industrial Kitchenaid my dad bought mom over 40 years ago. It still works great. Makes better bread than the new fangled breadmaker that's sitting in the basement waiting for the next garage sale.

We've got the waffle iron and a panini press. btw, next time you're making waffles, try laying bacon slices on top of the batter before you close the top. My Babcia made them that way and now my husband makes them for the grangirls.

My favorite gadgets are the Tupperware 'worm' fruit peeler and the Pampered Chef mini roller.

For reals. One of my projects last weekend was cleaning out our (non-self cleaning) oven.

What a PITA!
