What are you reading today?

I'm actually reading Pilgrim's Progress at the moment. I've had it on my shelf for years and have never got around to reading it. It's very interesting, but not exactly light reading. Since this is a virtual read anyway, I think I'll curl up with one of my long-time favorites, maybe Gone With the Wind.

Great Blue,

Pilgrim's Progress happens to be one of my all-time favorite reads. Just finished up another classic late last night (after Midnight) -- Moby Dick. Now that I'm here in the reading room...I've been meaning to read the Hobbit...oh man! this leather chair is comfortable...and it reclines, too....ZZZZZZZ

I haven't read Moby Dick in some years, I think I'll brush off the dust after I finish Blowfly and read it. Tessa and I read the Hobbit last year together cuz it's worth lots of Accelerated Reader points at her school, and I hadn't read it in several years. She ordered the Lord of the Rings Trilogy for me for mothers day and we are in the middle of The Two Towers right now. We haven't seen the movie, but the day we finish the book is the day we watch it.

Hey Tiny - can we get you to put the hockey game on the big screen?

And I'll have some of those spicy wings and a shirley temple. I'm the designated driver tonight...

FROZEN COOL WHIP!!! GOOD GRAVY MAN!!!! You're my hero! (Or Good Gravy Woman, whever the case may be)

I'll try to remember that's my upcoming treat while I sit through a boring steak dinner tonight. They're going to force us (50 ppl) to drink a six liter bottle of 1990 Trefethen Cab. Woe is me

(Cab has 2 grams or carbs so I'll have to stick with less than ummmmm 10 glasses LOL)

And just what reaction did you get to passing up 10 glasses of Cab in order to go home and scarf down some frozen Cool Whip???? I may have to change my screen name to The Good Gravy Woman now... I feel the need to run to the grocery store and see if they have any chocolate Cool Whip - maybe I can pass it off as chocolate mousse for Thanksgiving if I put it in a crystal serving dish?

Good Gravy Woman would be a lovely name LOL

I umm well I umm skipped the cool whip that day and stuck with the cab (It was actually a 12 liter bottle not six) It wasn't terribly good (past it's prime) so I suppose I should have driven to the cool whip store and found some desert

The next day I went to another wine dinner where I didn't pass on any cab or cool whip. This holiday eating is hard! LOL

I'm thinking cool whip with pumpkin in it for desert...want to quickly design a recipe? LOL

Would your relatives look at you funny if you just froze Cool Whip in a pie plate and put a dollop of Pumpkin on top of it? And maybe you could whip up the Pumpkin into something a bit fluffier and pipe it around the edge to look sort of like a pie crust?

Congrats on the Cab - I had 2 glasses of a polite little white for dinner Friday night and about passed out cold. Guess that means Dr Atkins has had his way with my metabolism? He's just gonna have to get over it on Thanksgiving -- there's going to be some potatoes, stuffing, and you got it - GOOD GRAVY!!!! on my plate.

Heh heh, well I didn't have 10 glasses I reserved just a bit for other good carbs. Although I don't think I can count Saturdays glasses as we did a tasting and in my mind, tastings don't count (sure they were half glasses...but still, just a taste) LOL I haven't seen a difference in my wine drinking ability on Atkins, but then again, instead of phasing it in during week 12 as advised, I threw it into week two...Perhaps lack of exposure got you

I'm going to be good on the holiday I think. Except for just a tiny bit of pumpkin cheesecake. I'll try to just eat the cheese, not the cake! Then to make up for it, two more weeks of induction!

I only lasted until Day 11, but maybe my system thought that constituted "lack of exposure"

Looks like a quiet day at C's. Today is Wed. isn't it? From the looks of these boards, one would think it's Turkey Day already.

OK, I'll start it with a T Day tradition, Bahama Mama please. Maria, are you stopping by today?

I may stop in Friday for a quick one before I head out of town to my mother-in-laws. Unfortunately, I'll be at my desk all day.

First time at Cleabatsu's and as a drinker of non-alcoholic beverages, I'm curious as to what you might have on tap for me - It's the day before a holiday and I'm moving offices - always a fun way to spend the day!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, here I go again. Since I have the beeper starting today, and ending Monday, I will go re-load. I'm taking Friday off, but I'll still be on call. Thanks for the heads-up, now I won't have to miss the family or the Football!

I'll take a warm spiced cider, please... It's a little chilly this morning.

What snacks do you have ready to go for us? Don't really feel like chicken wings today, with all the turkey coming up tomorrow... how about some little BBQ meatballs or something?
