"From Miami to Maine, Savannah to Seattle, America is caught in an icy grip that one of the U.N.'s top global warming proponents says could mark the beginning of a mini ice age.

Oranges are freezing and millions of tropical fish are dying in Florida, and it could be just the beginning of a decades-long deep freeze, says Professor Mojib Latif, one of the world's leading climate modelers.

Latif thinks the cold snap Americans have been suffering through is only the beginning. He says we're in for 30 years of cooler temperatures -- a mini ice age, he calls it, basing his theory on an analysis of natural cycles in water temperatures in the world's oceans.

Latif, a professor at the Leibniz Institute at Germany's Kiel University and an author of the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, believes the lengthy cold weather is merely a pause -- a 30-years-long blip -- in the larger cycle of global warming, which postulates that temperatures will rise rapidly over the coming years."

Al Gore, in response said "the only time it was colder was whem it wasn't warm. Other than that, I stick by theory of global warming."

So Cal
So let's see:

Rise in global temperatures = man made global warming
Fall in global temperatures = man made global warming

Next up: Tiger Woods' cheating is the result of a long-term faithfulness trend.

That was my take. This winter is already too harsh and the consensus needs to show the unwashed masses why a cold winter is exactly what global warming models call for.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Thank goodness for global warming, otherwise we would all have been frozen to death by now...and our carcasses would be food for the poor, starving polar bears that have had to leave the melting pole...

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
"basing his theory on an analysis of natural cycles in water temperatures in the world's oceans."

HMMMmmmmm.......but I thought man-made global warming destroyed the natural cycles of the earth and if its a natural cycle how could it be caused by man?

He was saying that the natural cycle is enough to overwhelm the man-made global warming, but that natural cycle won't last forever.

I guess on a positive note, if not for man made global warming, the next 30 years would be even worse.

Of course, next year, when we have a mild winter, this guys will say it was completely expected.

Well if man made global warming is happening, it seems we should not be trying to slow it for the next 30 years so we can have moderate winters.

I'm torn, I'm generally all for milder winters, I've seen plenty of nasty ones in WI

however, I recently bought a new winter coat so I don't want that go to waste

I need the government to tell me what to think and do

well Al Gore says we have reached a point of no return, if we don't do something about global warming, I mean climate change, right now, it will be too late.

So since Copenhagen failed, I assume Al Gore will retreat to his ranch, knowing that it is too late to do anything about climate change.

Big Al has a ranch?

That no doubt will be downsized to limit the amount of carbons that is being released.

I really admire Fat Albert. I'm so looking forward to no options other than a tiny tin can piece of junk to purchase from government motors some day.
