Sometimes I find myself wishing I could find a genie lamp, rub it and get myself three wishes....

If you found a genie lamp, what would you wish for?

Me...I have often wondered if my first wish could be to have as many wishes I wanted, then I wouldn't have to pick just three!!

1. I would wish for my family to always be safe.
2. I would wish for a checking account that never ran out of money and
3. I would wish for a beautiful singing voice (always wanted to sing professionally)

1. Health and happiness for everyone, particularly my father.
2. That my son be smart and self-sufficient when he grows up.
3. Ah, the money thing... enough to do non-profit work instead of banking and own a horse farm.

2: the ability to be a great writer.
3: have my dad back for even just one day

Hey, are we the same person? You got my wishes down pat, except I would add having my brother along with my father for the day.

1. For an unlimited amount of wishes
Then I would wish for oh so many things! Sure it's not very creative, but it works. (Unless this is against some genie rule that I don't know of.)

1. To actually live in the same state with my husband.
2. For my son to grow up happy, healthy and challenged.
3. Too many to list only one (i.e. healthy family, world peace, etc.)

Like in the movie "Groundhog Day", my first wish would be for that day to repeat itself every day. My 2nd wish would be that part of the first wish would be that I (but only I) could change my actions in each copycat day. My third wish would be that I could allow up to 1,000,000 people each day to also alter their copycat day. This way, every day of my life I would be given three new wishes, and I could have a new experience every single day and choose to share it with as few as one person, or even with an entire city/state/country or baseball team!

You're a pretty deep guy Dave, I WISH I had thought of that!

Well Elena - to be honest, I was expecting "selfish" versus "deep", but world peace and all that is so cliche

3. Gosh a money tree that produced a bumper crop of 50's every year might not be terrible to live with.

Why can't the rest of us have happiness?? Would it be so hard when you make your wish to say "I wish happiness for e-v-e-r-y-o-n-e"????

Revised wish number one:

Happiness for those I love, and those with big heads and those who are addicted to BOL.

I guess I just included ya'll with the "loved" ones and, I must be honest...there are a few people I don't wish happiness for

LOL Dave Come on, be honest...there must be someone out there you don't wish happiness for

People who beat up on little kids should not find happiness...they should find a prison and someone to beat up on them. Then there's the guy who invented post it notes...and Rush Limbaugh...and Osama Bin Laden, and ummm The list can go on and on and onnnnnn

First of all, you need to wish for job satisfaction for the genie. The last thing you want is a bitter, overly literal genie messing with you.

That was Mulder's problem in that X-files episode - he wished for world peace, and the genie made him the only person on the planet... (Problem solved!) That episode also revealed why Aladdin's Genie couldn't bring people back from the dead - it really hurts when you get run over by a truck!

Second, rewrite the ending to Star Trek II, so that Khan comprehends and reacts to Kirk's escape, right before the Defiant goes nuclear.

Third, I'd like a really comfortable pair of shoes.

A Grant Wood painting.
Dawnie,
I wish for you to be happy enough to wish everyone is happy!
A Cubs / Twins World Series would be nice.
Enough money to buy change in my little part of the world. (Safe school buildings, a safe place for battered women and children, funding for programs aimed at exceptional kids that live in rural areas, start-up money for local people with good ideas and little or no confidence, money for the arts- a true quality of life issue, a skate park - they are good kids that are misunderstood in small towns. I would like to spend more time with my own kids.)

Is that three already? I am already blessed.

I wouldn't wish for world peace because of the stereotypical beauty pagent response.

I would wish for:

1. $45,000 tax free once a month for the rest of my life.

2. Respect of each others religion and beliefs.

3. A cure to an incurable cell trait that I have.

1. Enough time with my dad to understand all he'd have taught me about life -- probably take more than one day, but one day would be a good start if the genie is limited.

If the genie can handle that one, I'll settle for one.

I will give up my wish #2 and wish with you for your #3. As well as wish, I will pray for that cure.

Where the heart is
I'm actually afraid to wish for things - because I just might get them! I would probably wish that the 3 wishes went to the person most deserving of them. It eliminates the whole "guilt trip" thing.
