In an obituary in our paper a couple of weeks ago - an elderly lady's children were Cinnamon and Jiminy - both girls. That cracked me up. And I have a unique name - only have met one other Lestie in my whole life. We were both very uncomfortable when we were in the same place. We were used to knowing EXACTLY who was being called when someone said our names! (It's my Cherokee great-grandmother's name, by the way)

My 7 year old is named Luke. As far as I know, he is the only one in his class with this name.

Why do you think my sons are Daniel James and Noah Timothy? Because you liked the names? Because they are family names? Because you lost a bet? Because neither can be made into a nasty rhyme? Because you like Daniel Boone, James Joyce, Noah Wylie, and Timothy Dalton? Because a boy named Sue was already taken? Am I even getting close on any of these?

Actually, it's because I didn't want them to have the unusual names in the family and both have an Old Testament first name and a New Testament middle name.

I guess I'm stuck on Greek mythology. With one daughter named Cassandra, if I ever have another daughter, her name will be Penelope and we'll call her Penny. So I'll have Cassie and Penny. And I want to name my son Jason, but my husband thinks it's too common. But it fits my mythology theme, it's not weird and people can pronounce it! Score! No Cassiopia?

I know a family with cool names-Avery, Lillian, Willow, Nathaniel, Roman, and Gage.
The mom is very artistic. I think they're great!
