**copied from ww thread**

so, with the biggest loser starting a new season next week, i was wondering if anyone wanted to use that as a little motivation and do our own sorta-BL here.

i was thinking that we could all have our start weight, and every wednesday morning (since the show is on tuesday night), post up our weight loss successes here. No actual starting weights posted, but definitely successes like "I lost 2 pounds" or "i exercised 3 times" and stuff like that. There will be about 15 weeks of show, so maybe some of us could lose close to 30 pounds by inspiring each other.

what do you think?

I'm in. Like I said in the other thread, don't want the weight back I lost this summer. Heading into the time of gravies and cocoa, that's going to be tuff so I can use the support.

Hi everyone:

I generally don't post much on the forums (just read), but I think this would be a good time to stay motivated to getting healthier. For the past two months I have been eating better by consuming less (or no) fried foods, sweets, soda, etc. So far I have lost 7 pounds, but I think I need exercise on a more consistent basis. My ultimate goal is to lose 25 to 30 pounds, but I know I have to do it little by little otherwise it is easy for me to lose track.

Well, thanks for reading, and I wish everyone happy and healthy eating!

Congrats on the 7 pound weight loss. Sounds like you're well on your way to your goal. Keep up the great work!

I will be reading this thread and possibly participating. I've been eating healthier and exercising some. I'm down a total of 13 pounds with just under 10 to go to reach my goal. It's a long, slow process, but being over 45 it's a necessity.

I'm in on this plan for sure! My WW meetings are on Wednesday nights, so I'll be a week behind with my numbers, but that's ok.

I am officially down 30 pounds (finally lost that one more pesky pound - been hovering at 29 lbs lost for a while... grrrr) since joining WW in November 2008.

I will take (gratefully!) all the motivation I can get, so I will happily post here every Wednesday morning and participate. Thanks for starting this thread. smile

I'll try.

I'm VERY unhappy with how I've let stress get the better of me lately. It's time to take control! My goal will be to lose 15 pounds over the next 15 weeks.

Keep me going buddies! PLEASE! smile

well, today is wednesday. if you have your starting weight, and want to start today, let's go! if you want to weight (heh) until next wednesday, which is the day after the first BL show, that's cool too.

i'm thinking our goals should be to lose 1-2 pounds a week on average. that's what "they" say is a healthy amount. obviously, those who have <15 pounds to lose may do it more slowly, but every 1/2 pound lost is a victory. (1/2 pound = 2 sticks of butter, right?)

if you have an off week, and gain, that's okay too. we're not going to judge, because the next off week might be our own. we can ask for added support and encouragement.

this could be fun! it'll be good to have buddies. smile

Running and riding everywhere ...
I use fitday.com right now and like it for the most part. I've also used www.my-calorie-counter.com and my sister really likes The Daily Plate on Livestrong.com ...just to give you a few other options. They're all FREE...no need IMO to pay for the 'premium' features.

Kitten - not that an apple isn't great, but remember you do need to eat 'enough'. A co-worker here is coaching is using WW. On WW you MUST eat the minimum number of points.

When an apple doesn't seem like enough, I slice it and sprinkle some cinnamon on it. I also have protein at each meal - it helps me to feel full. Forgot to mention that I go to the doc today and I'm sure she'll think this is a great idea!

do you think "chair dancing" (you know, listening to music at your desk) would fall under "religious activity - praise with dance or run, spiritual dancing in church" or "volunteer work - standing, light/moderate work (pack boxes, assemble/repair, set up chairs/furniture)" in the fitday.com world?

Count me in.... I'll try to pop in more often and keep up with the encouragement and suggestions from others...

Here's to seeing "less" of ourselves and one another! grin

DS... I'm doing WW...and I find it nearly impossible to eat all my required points.... I guess it's due to the fact that I choose more "filler" foods.... gets me full faster and keeps me full longer!

Thank you Duchess.

A bit of a downer for me today is that I've gained 2 pounds. I know it was because of the holiday weekend and didn't give much thought into what I was eating and how much. I didn't dare weigh myself on Tuesday, but had to today. I've learned that it can get quite difficult when you are really consciously making efforts to eat well.

Count me in! It will give me motivation (and accountability) to lose those last 15 pounds. I'm at a plateau after the 17 pounds I have already lost this year. THANKS for the great idea. Maybe I'll have 5 more off by my 29th high school reunion in October......
