Thanks CubDave! I was wondering about this movie, but the commercials really didn't pique my interest, and now the reviews have been horrible. I think I'll go see ELF as my Holiday movie this year. A lot of folks have said they found that movie very enjoyable.

No, and that's the proof in the pudding. My daughter did not like it. Plus, on the first evening it was out, there were only 10 other suckers in the thetare with us. Elf, by the way, was excellent!

I've heard from a lot of places that this movie was a great disappointment. One of the critics here in Milwaukee was looking for something new from Mike Meyers, but felt that he used some of the same tricks in this movie that he had used in his Austin Powers movie. I've also heard that people felt that Jim Carrey could have brought more talent to this movie.

My vote goes to Elf. It starts off slow, but kept the interest of my 3 & 5 year olds. Especially after Elf down a liter bottle of Coke.

Ew, Jim Carry is in it? Now I'm DEFINITELY not going to see it. I have heard good things about Elf, so will probably see that.

So, are you are really pointing to 1 Thing and 2 Thing that
make the movie lousy.

It's Mike Myers who stars as the Cat, not Jim Carrey. Have you seen Bruce Almighty? I loved it. I know that Carrey is over the top sometimes, but he did a great job with Bruce.

No, Jim Carrey is NOT in it. Mike Myers is in it - he plays the title character. The previous poster was saying that Jim Carrey probably could have brought more to the role than Mike did if he had been in it instead of Mike Myers.

My daugther saw The Cat in the Hat this weekend and didn't like it at all. Looks like the movie reviewers were right with this one---awful.

I haven't seen Bruce Almighty yet. It comes out on DVD this week.

Thanks CubDave, but a day late and $25.50 short. Actually, my 5 and 7 year old liked it alright, but there were a couple of innuendo's that weren't appropriate, and I agree anyone older than 7 wouldn't be that impressed.

Im know - I probably missed a couple because I kept falling asleep, but the innuendo about the hoe was ridiculous and unnecessary.

Thanks all, for saving me $25.50, that is! It's a shame because the books were great!

First, my biggest discovery in this thead was that someone can see a movie for only $25.50 with two children. Are you bringing your own popcorn?

Second, I saw the grinch a couple of years ago and that was PLENTY of Suess live for me. Yawned through it! I figured this was about the same. Glad I didn't suffer though

That's almost right,

Dad & kids - Matinee movie tickets $16.50, Large Soda (refillable, two straws) $4.00, Large popcocorn $5.00, pockets full of Halloween candy = $25.50

Mom - three quiet hours without the kids = Priceless

So, let me get this straight ...

You did not like it with your kids
You did not like it at the show
You did not like it in the car
You did not like it anywar?

You did not like the Cat in the Hat
You did not like it ...and that is that!
