Hubby says, "I'm gonna drink a couple beer" instead of "beers." We argue that one all the time. I keep tellin him "some beer, a few beers." Does he have a couple of beer when he goes hunting deers? Yes. That's why even though he was aiming right between it's ear, he ended up shooting it in the rears.

Another one my boss says is "shirf" instead of "sheriff". You just have to shake your head and laugh.

The Fleetwood Mac song...line that says "just like a white winged dove".....my 15 year old was singing this in the car and I had to stop her and ask what she was singing..."just like a wild ranger"......
I just laughed and told her what the correct words were...she laughed and said..oh, that makes more sense! Oh, I always thought that was "just like a one winged dove"... Me too!!! Until my husband corrected me about 2 years ago! LMAO

I have a co-worker who says "flustrated" when she means "frustrated." (On a side note, the mom on "Little People, Big World" does this too. Drives me nuts.) I think that's how it's pronounced when someone can't decide whether they're flustered or frustrated

My husband uses the word "varily" and swears it is a word. We varily missed hitting that car. I tried to explain to him the word should be barely, but he will argue for days. I've even told him to look it up in a dictionary but he won't. He also pronounces syrup as surp. Drives me crazy! And one day while reading to our daughter he said: "old mother hubbard went to the cup board" - I lost it. I said what did you say and he said cup board (two separate words), I told him it was pronounced cubbard and he argued again saying that couldn't be cubbard because it is spelled cupboard. He finally believed me, but it was a war! We also argued about the word colonel and he said it can't be pronounced as kernel because there is not even an R in the word. Too funny!

Apparently your Victoria has a lot more secrets than all the other ones I don't understand this obsession with adding the "s" to the end of a store name. Krogers, Meijers, Kmarts, etc. The only one I haven't heard is Targets. But there's a first time for everything.

I've never heard anyone add an 's' to the name of a store when it didn't belong!

My nephew used to say em-ee-ems for M&M's when he was little. Now that he's nearly 15 - I caught him still saying that the other day. He was embarassed. It was cute.
There's a little town near here named Muleshoe (that's mule shoe) - but I've heard people passing through call it mull-ess-hoe several times. You've got to work hard to mess that up!
Older gentleman at church used to ask the congregation to precipitate in activities instead of participate. Lots of giggling going on in the back row when he did that!

My husband uses the word "varily" and swears it is a word. We varily missed hitting that car. Is he perhaps thinking of "verily", which is an old word that means truly or certainly. or narrowly, maybe?

At our house, it's macaroni and gravy.... I always thought that was a quirky Italian thing... [/quote] What's quirky about macaroni and gravy? That's what it is?

i have a friend that misprounces lots of words. Sometimes we can make an entire sentence using just words he doesn't say correctly. So funny. Colorado=Cod-a-ra-da, Flintstones=Flint-in-stones, Hamilton=Ham-et-on, Heimlich=Ham-let, Whatsoever=So-what-ever, Swarovski-Sa-vort-ski
I could go on and on. And its just because he doesn't pay attention. He has no learning issues.
