This might be harsh, but imo that's just stupidity! Especially in a professional correspondence...

When I worked at Wachovia (pronounced Wakovia) it would drive me nuts when people would pronounce it Watchovia. I could say it correctly in the interaction 15 times and it wouldn't make a difference.
And the inevitable cheesey joke got old...Watch ova ya money.... ugh

Oh, and people saying Appletown instead of Appleton. Now, well that is just stupid. I always hated the Oreg'in'... it's Oregon... OregON!!! Life long Oregon resident here! Actually it is pronounced OregIN or OregUN! A little joke when someone says OregON is Oregon hasn't GONE anywhere! (lame, but gets a point acorss I guess?)

This is not a "mispronunciation", but it bugs me when people write a memo or response and they use "are" instead of "our" when referring to possession.
For example,
"It is are policy to place a hold on checks over $1,000" Perhaps "your" just being "two" sensitive.

what really bugs me are the so called experts on the Military History channel that have decided to pronounce Ghengis Khan with a J
Jingas Khan
when did it change?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ it changed when John Kerry came back from Viet Nam (he has the hat to prove it) and provided his expert testimony at congressional hearings while using the "J"....

Had to report back that I did indeed write down the word Corpsman and asked my husband (and his friend) to pronounce it and it was just like Obama - CorPsman. My friend and I laughed so hard, so then I went back to the cupboard word and he again pronounced it cup-board. I went into hysterics so I then wrote colonel and he said colonial. My friend and I were rolling at this point. Again, he argued with me that it couldn't be kernel because there was no R in it. Just made us laugh more! Fun weekend!

When I call in a prescription, the pre-recorded message for my local pharmacy pronounces the city's name wrong. New Berlin - it's New Burr-lynn, not Berlin like the city in Germany. Drives me crazy everytime.
My daughter's name is another thing that people just cannot say right, nor can they spell it. At least I can say she has a pretty unique name.

How about I need to "axe" you a question instead of "ask". I cringe when I hear it.
