Can someone please provide a link to the the new regulations effective March 1st? I understand that anyone with a customer who is a Massachusetts resident is covered.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, John. Now the toughter question.

I don't see anything here that banks should not already be doing. Am I missing something?

I guess the big deal is that it's now law and it affects everyone doing business with a Massachusetts resident.

I attended the MA Information Security Summit in Springfield MA on January 27, 2010. There really wasn't anything to report that bankers had not already been doing for years however it was interesting to see how many other businesses in MA have not had any information security procedures at all. The updated regulation requires each company to have an information security written program and to comply with all the same things banks already do. Surprisingly several companies were shocked to realize that they can't email social security numbers anymore. Sheesh!!
