For the past couple of years, I have been finishing up a degree online so all my reading has been academic. This year (post-degree) I can actually read for FUN again!! I've really missed it!
Anyway, a customer of ours brought me several paperbacks to read at lunch a couple kept my attention. The most recent one I finished is "The Book of the Dead" co-written by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child!!! I had a blast with that book so I went to the library on Wednesday and got the first two books they wrote together. I am almost halfway through "The Relic" and looking forward to "Mount Dragon".

The Screwtape Letters - CS Lewis One of my ALL-TIME favorites!!! C.S. Lewis is the thinker's author....if that makes sense. There is SO much more to his writing than what is apparent on the page!

If you like Balducci, you should try his Camel Club series. Just googled the series and it does look good - thanks for the info.

Cool, Yaz! I'll do that! I finished Relic over the weekend and am now about halfway through Mount Dragon . I am not as impressed with this one. It deals with some very technical scientific things that, for me at least, take away from the enjoyment of the story. It is not an Agent Pendergast story like I thought it was. But, hey....I'm trying to reserve final judgement until the end. An acquaintance who works at the library said she was not as impressed by the authors' independent works, but that I should give them a try and form my own opinion. I love reading!! (BTW... Relic was a little heavy on the language, but was a terrific thriller. My husband hates to read, but I told him he'd really enjoy this as a movie.)

I tried hard as I could yesterday to get into the first book in the C.S. Lewis series Chronicles of Narnia. I just couldn't do it...

If you've seen the movie, the book seems to move slowly. It IS worth it, though, if you can stick with it and let your imagination rock and roll!

I discovered these books featuring Agent Pendergast last year and loved them. There is also(correct order, I think): Cemetary Dance The Cabinet of Curiosities Still Life With Crows Brimstone Dance of Death The Wheel of Darkness

Currently reading "The Princess Bride" and it has been different enough from the movie so far to keep it quite entertaining. (Love the movie, just glad this isn't "exactly" the same.)

Atomic Iran -- Mike Evans (Scary stuff. We blew it in the late '70s. Makes me wish I had been old enough to vote for Gerald Ford.)
Sorry, but that is what I'm reading. It isn't my intent to turn this political.

My niece is reading "Dear John" by Nicholas Sparks right now. She says I HAVE to read it when she is done but I'm thinking, by the amount of crying she's doing, that I don't want to!

I read Witch and Wizard by Patterson, it sucked, a total Harry Potter knockoff.
