the teeth marks on all the door knobs, the toys left laying around everywhere (especially at the top of the steps at night; going to bed at night and spitting out dog hair and flipping the pillow to the "undrooled side"

the best was the poop on the newspaper...hidden by the careful placement of a couple bedroom slippers.

who said animals are dumb?

I have a dog that covers food dishes so the rest of the dogs can't get it (or so she thinks). Bedroom slippers are a favored cover upper!

Mine also are all avid moler's and squirrel hunters...so far none have made it to the sofa crevaces...thank goodness!

those green teeth cleaning bones were not a fav of our weenie dog, but so no one else got them, he would hide them over all the house, we still come across them and he has been gone 3 years.....

Oh my word sick

We had a beagle male come a calling on one of our Rotts once. Traveled 4 miles twice a day to come courting the love of his life. He was in love. First time they took him home he chewed thru his chain. The second time he climbed a tree and jumped over a chain link fence to get to his Juliet. As hard as we tried to keep them apart it still resulted in 7 Beeweilers babies. grin

Thanks a bunch. Now I have this song stuck in my head.

Great, green globs of greasy, grimey gopher guts.
Mutilated monkey meat,
little, dirty birdy feet...

laugh

I remember the third line as "chopped up baby parakeet" laugh

Everyone OK now?

She is-thanks for asking. She had a nasty allergic reaction to something...furiously scratching and chewing her paws, very agitated and her mouth and snout swelled up. Nothing that a shot of Benadryl and some steroids couldn't take care of.

We had an outdoor cat when we lived in Georgia. We also put a cat door on the garage. It wasn't very big - just big enough for Sam to get into the garage.

We came back home after being up north to visit my family for a few days. We went into the garage and I went up the stairs to go in - and there was the majority of a very large deceased rabbit. I have no idea how Sam stuffed that thing through that small space.

If I didn't have dogs, I wouldn't have a blue rug on the back seat to prevent them from sliding on the leather seat.

If I didn't have dogs, there would be no doggy seatbelts in the back seat.

My sister (who lives way down south) closed off her cat door after local possums started to come in, eat cat food, have a drink of water, use the litter pan and stroll in to the living room!

possums love cat food...we feed fixed feral cats and we cannot leave food out after dusk, and the cats do nothing to defend the bowls, just perch up high and watch .....

Me too! I have the back seat cover thing and Boeing and Puka each have their own tiny seatbelts. So funny when my school buddies want to ride in my car to go get food...the one in the back has to fight to get her people seatbelt around the seat cover and the one in the front has to undo the doggie seatbelts.

I had to kill a possum that had backed one of my dogs into a corner one night... Possums are really freaky at night, with the little red eyes and the hissing...

My sister's comment was "at least they used the litter pan"!

My unfixed feral cat has her food high up on a ledge in my feed room at the barn...If I was to go in there and see a possum that made it past my dogs..I'd have a coronary probablay...snakes..that's one thing...but possums-horrors!

One of my dogs was carrying a possum around one night last summer. Don't know how it got in the fenced yard. Finally got her to drop it, and it didn't move while I attempted to pick it up with the pooper scooper, which wasn't strong enough to hold the dang thing. So I got all the dogs rounded up and in the house and dragged the BF off the couch to dispose of what I thought was a dead possum. When he finally got it picked up with a shovel it moved just enough to let us know it was still alive, so he took it to the park across the street.

Stupid possum was back in the yard the again the next night!

hmdagal..I had that happen twice last summer...I thought they were mutilated, but instead they were just playing "possum". grrrrr....what's worse is when you investigate and they pick that particular moment in time to hiss at you....ACK!

If I didn't have any cats I would never wake up with half of a mouse on my pillow. Tiny little mobsters!

Fortunately this one didn't hiss. It was probably a little freaked out after being in a dog's mouth... To the best of my knowledge it's the only animal that's survived that experience - the bunnies, squirrel and raccoon were all dead when she gave them up...

laugh This happened to me; the cat chewed the mouse's head off and the dog hid it under a pillow. I stuck my hand under the pillow when laying down on the couch and felt something wet.
