If there are no changes to the charges from the GFE to the HUD statement can that be left blank or do we have to report it as zero in that field?

Curled up by the fire...
I really don't understand what you're asking.
If you have a changed circumstance and the fees don't change?
Can you clarify?

If you are referring to the comparison of the charges shown on the GFE to the ones shown on the HUD then each fee has to be shown in the comparison chart regardless if there was any difference between the two or not.

Sorry for the confusion. On page three of the settlement statement between the "Charges that can't increase more than 10%" and the "charges that can change" sections there is the line that says "increase between GFE and HUD charges". If there is no change from the GFE to the HUD for those two sections then can the $ and % field be left blank or should they contain $0.00 and 0%?

I asked HUD-RESPA a similar question and got their reply last week.

Quote:
Q: If the change is negative, is it ok to show zero in the line or, because zero is not factual, would it be better to leave the box blank?
A: Either way or a negative is permitted

This leads me to believe you can put zero in or leave it blank for no change situations.

We've been leaving it blank when we do the closing but we occasionally use an attorney to do the closing and I notice they put zeroes in.

we show the negatives...it's much more interesting that way! I've seen attorney's do it both ways.
