We have a W-8 NRA (Non-Resident Alien)who wants to rent a SD Box. Can we do this? Is it up to the bank and reflected in their bank policy?

It is up to the bank who you decide to lease boxes to.

My bank has determined to only lease boxes to customers with a transaction account. We also require them to use auto-debit to make the annual payments. We open accounts for non-resident aliens so we also open boxes.

We open accounts and boxes for NRAs. They are required to have a checking or savings before they can have a box. We also encourage the automatic payment when opening a box.
We make sure we have it on the written bank procedures.
