But who will be this season's Jerry Springer (celeb who hangs around forever but deserves to go)?

I can't wait for the show to start.

This woman is tired of the Ocho's of the DWTS world. And I disagree with you about woman not voting for women. Look at Kristi and Marie.

How about a friendly kieska wager on who makes the top three, BF?

Truffle, kieska doesn't ship well, and I'm lucky if I can get it here any more. The ONE store I used to be able to go get it has been "out of stock" the last two times I went there! I'm going to have to make a trip to Chicago to stock up!

PS: Kristy and Marie were not extremely attractive women. Not ugly, but not sexy.

And Brooke Burke is the new co-host. How conveeeeenient.

I've had keishka shipped to me from Chicago. Works fine. I just finished the last of what I got in Chicago a while back. I'm thinking there's got to be someplace to get it in Milwaukee. Someone from my family is out that way much more regularly.

A.J.'s Polish Deli

A.J.'s is the only exclusively Polish grocery in the city specializing in Polish pastries, perogies and breads.

They too get it in from Chicago, but they are the only true Polish deli left in the area.

Only one place left in Milwaukee? Wow! Didn't Milwaukee have just as large a Polish neighborhood as Chicago with lots of Polish delis?

Ok, I'm actually from Poland (and speak Polish) and I don't know what a kieska or keiska or whatever you're calling it is...

So........ what is it?!

What my grandmother made was a fresh pork sausage, with lots of seasonings, and I believe it was a blood sausage. And I sooooooooooooooooooooooo much would love to try it again.

Kishka (food) various sausages of Eastern European origin made by stuffing intestine (derma) with meat, blood (often) and a grain

Sorry. Misspelled it. Here in the states it's often called barley or blood sausage.

And yes, Jay, I will call them. Thanks for the number.

Oh, ok. It's "kiszka". I get it now. Sorry! smile

Yeah, it's something that's made/eaten in the "country" in Poland, it's not popular in the metropolitan areas. I do remember going off to summer camp once and I think that's what they served us and all of us "city kids" were quite unhappy about it. I think most of us refused to eat it laugh

But now my mind is at ease, as I know what you are referring to. Yay smile

'city kid'...My parternal ancestors were the wealthy Poles but they all passed before I was born. The Babcia I lived with was my mom's mom. The maternal side of my family was from Boboda (sp?) Lots of good ol' home cooking including kishka.

LOL Just so you know, I wasn't implying that country kid = poor and city kid = wealthy. That's not really true there anyway smile I just meant that the city kids weren't exposed to some of the "old fashioned country cooking" such as kiszka and czarnina (duck blood soup). I never even heard of czarnina until I moved to the US and a friend's mother made it for me one day because she thought I'd like it and it would remind me of my childhood. No, thanks laugh

And you're probably talking about the village of Bobowa (pronounced Bobovah). I think it was a village and is now a city. Or town?

That's pretty cool though. It's nice to know where your relatives come from.

And I *love* the fact you use the word Babcia, which is the correct term for Grandma. For some reason, people here use the term "Busia" which is not a word in Polish. It originates from "Babusia" which is a cute way of calling your grandma but it also stands for a cute little old lady - not necessarily your grandma. But Busia is not a word. Babcia is. I called my Polish grandparents "Babcia and Dziadzio".

Now that we've totally sidetracked the thread, let's take it to a PM.

GO Evan! Can't wait for DWTS tonight. The only reality show I really love.

Yes... OOPS! Sorry! laugh

I'm excited to see the show. I haven't watched DWTS for a couple of seasons because I wasn't interested in the "stars" they had. But this time, I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone.

Our family has been unique for generations where this is concerned.... Grandmother is Babcia, but Grandfather has been either grandad or Papap! Go figure smile Based on "interviews" with my great grandparents, the story was that my grandfather wanted to be "American" before they immigrated, and he insisted that he be called "Grandfather". It just stuck...

All we need now is some Polish celebs lol!

Seriously though, as I understand it, this is one of the most talked about casts they've ever had on DWTS!

Go Chad!

By the way Truffle, I'm calling it Chad, Evan, and Erin for the final three!

Chad is taking it very seriously, based on interviews I've seen with he and his partner.
