I did download the #1 jazz song that Matt Giraud was featured on with Anna Wilson after the show, and it's good. He's also apparently got a couple albums on iTunes from before Idol. Some of the music is pretty darned good.

I am totally bummed about Lily and Alex. It sounds like people either love her or hate her - no in betweens. I am definitely a fan.

And Alex? The tone of his voice is just so good. You don't hear anyone that sounds like him on the radio today. (I don't listen to mainstream radio often, but I am still pretty comfortable saying that so I'm sticking to it.) Yes, he needs more experience. But dudes, isn't that what AI is for too? I think he is too good to just fade away and I think he might because where, if not on AI is he going to get the experience? Bummer...

I agree with Miss Banker about Alex.

I agreethat Alex has a very nice voice. However, he is just not ready to perform live. Honestly, he would have been better off not getting to the live shows this year and being sent away to improve his stage presence.

I really wanted Alex to stay - agree with Miss Banker too. His voice just has a certain quality that is very compelling. He should have stayed instead of Tim Urban.

I think the mullet was his downfall. Without it he probably would have had a larger portion of the tweener vote, which is all that's keeping Tim in.

I'd have to say that nobody does it better than Leonard. It's one of those songs that is so personal that, although it's pretty when others do it, it has the most authority when the person who lived through writing it performs it.

(I caught the tail end of the performance of the song this year. It was OK, but nothing special.)
