An Internal Auditor could get a complex around here if they had thin skin.  Thankfully I am thick-skinned and hard-headed.  Me too  Me 3!

An Internal Auditor could get a complex around here if they had thin skin. Thankfully I am thick-skinned and hard-headed. At the dermatologist office last year, I had to have a mole removed from my back (no mole-asses jokes, please). After she excised the mole, she spent about 15 minutes stitching me up. Afterward, she tells me, "You have really thick skin - I bent 3 different needles putting in the stitches." I tell her, "I've been a bank auditor and compliance officer for over 20 years. It's no surprise that I've got thick skin."

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a schedule that is is based on a risk assessment in January every year, that is approved by the board of directors. I have to follow that schedule, I can be flexible to a point but I am not going to put my but on the line just because you don't like auditors. People get mad and feel like they are being picked on, I tell them if they were doing their job right I would have nothing to say...I think the IA's get a bad rap. Yeah! What he said!!! (I do both Audit and Compliance - generally it's easy to get along with myself. Generally.)
