As in, "not on the level" or "not on an even keel", I think.

Pulling people out of the ditc...

That's the problem with today's language. People are too busy dissing others to think about the meaning of words. Either that or you're just not hanging with the right crowd.
In the world of construction and engineering, you use a level with a glass vial filled with liquid and one air bubble to see if things are straight or plumb. If they're not level, they're a bubble off plumb. Someone who is a bubble off plumb is not playing with a full deck either. Now do you get it? well, if I was in the world of construction or engineering, maybe it would make sense to me. However, I'm in the banking world, and have probably used a level less than 10 times in my life, so I deeply apologize if my lack of understanding on your colloquilism was considered to be dissing. Any my BIL is in the construction business, he likely uses a level daily, and I've never heard him uise this term either. As I make new friends, I'll see if any have heard this phrase, to ensure that I'm hanging with the "right crowd." This question will certainly simplify the "HappyGilmore Friend Application" that all new friends are required to complete, to ensure they meet CIP and BSA guidelines! Thanks for the heads up and the advice

Not the sharpest knife in the drawer! I think this one is good here, since we talk about food so much!

This question will certainly simplify the "HappyGilmore Friend Application" that all new friends are required to complete, to ensure they meet CIP and BSA guidelines! Thanks for the heads up and the advice One needn't be in a certain world to have contact with it. One also can pick up colloquialisms through the fine art of reading. This one did not mean to infer that your lack of understanding was dissing. ::shudder:: (I do hate that word.) I also stated that I believe geography plays a large part in the colloquialisms one is exposed to. I'm learning that y'all truly do speak a different language below the Mason Dixon Line. Due to the fact I've not received the "HappyGilmore Friend Application" I will assume that this One is not included in that CIP/BSA controlled group either.

They were talking about the Jello thieves on the radio this morning. It sounds like the perps might have some age-related dementia... Pale? Are you here Pale? Is there anything you need to tell Mister?
