never owned a gun. Know someone who worked at the post office who owned a few guns - where he worked they used to have gun raffles.

Same here.

My dad has a collection but rarely uses them. They're locked up in the basement. I used to go shooting with him (target shooting) and it was fun, but I don't want any guns in my house or its vicinity.

My brother got shot with a friend's father's gun (he was a cop) when he was 11. Not cool. Thankfully he doesn't have anything more than a big ugly scar on his upper torso/shoulder area. So much for keeping your kids educated and keeping your guns locked away. The 11 year old friend knew very well how to get into his dad's guns and how to use them. crazy They were only trying to play cops and it (literally!) backfired on them. I can't even think of what would have happened if the shot hit a few inches in a different direction. Ugh...

Guns are locked in a wall safe in the master closet. I think I remember where MOML put the keys.

Haven't shot since hunting with aforesaid hubby in IL way back when. Total fiasco. Boot came off in a slew and I made the mistake of asking my husband what I should do. His answer, 'I don't care just don't put the gun down!' added to the misery of getting up at 0 dark:thirty convinced me that shooting wasn't on my priority list.

All I know is that if I have to shoot someone trying to break into our house, I have to make sure they fall IN, not out.

In hades.
It's free, you just gotta call and tell them you want the trigger worked on. They will pay for shipping via fed-ex.

I'm in Will County, just outside of Cook, so I don't have to worry about it. The story would be a lot different if I was just a few more miles north.

Enough that my eyes popped outa my head when I last opened the safe to store some jewelry. Either he's spending some bucks or those things make babies when the door is closed and it gets dark! grin

Hubby is deer, turkey, dove, quail and coyote hunter, rifle, bow and black powder. We make some mean jerky. I've heard the commercial enough that I know he can say "I shoot a Matthews bow"?!?!

I enjoy having two revolvers, two .22 snake charmers, and dream of getting a Glock.

Three shotguns, the favorite being my 12ga Benelli Montefeltro. Four rifles ranging from 30-06 to 22lr. No Pistol yet.

But the thing i like better than all my guns is my Mathews Bow.

I have a pistol that my Dad carried when he worked for the FBI.....guess it's an antique....looks like a toy to me. It's loaded and ready to fire, but I suspect I would use different measures to deal with an intruder, since the chance of getting to the gun's location might be slim. My goal is to get a concealed handgun license and buy a "real" gun. smile My 84 year-old mother has a shotgun and a rifle that I'll eventually have to take possession of and get rid of. Both of those are probably classified as antiques as well.

Count me as one. Though I don't have a hand gun that is small enough to conceal.

Then he could get a hammerless Airweight like mine. The dealers call it a "purse gun." grin

I wish Illinois would have Conceal and Carry.

I have a drawer under my bed, and keep the key near the case near by.

Thinking about getting my CC. Although in Texas we can conceal guns in our vehicles without a license.

I don't like having to leave it in the car.. hence the concealed permit.

There's a bill that's been approved in the senate that's in the house right now that'll expand where guns can be carried in Georgia by CC permit holders.

It's my "oh $**t" gun, so I figured I don't have to be in love with it. I knew I wanted a really small, light revolver for concealed carry and (mostly) to leave in my truck, and the guy talked me into hammerless since it's less likely to discharge by accident while drawing. It would suck to blow a hole in my own leg trying to get my gun out of my pants or purse because it snagged on something. eek It kicks like a mule and isn't very accurate from further than about 10 feet away (I understand the only thing worse is a derringer), but I didn't buy it for targets. If I've got to pull it, there's someone very close up intending me harm.
