I know one of the pros got sick last year and one of the eliminated pros stepped in for a week or two.

The pro with Shannon, yes, he hurt his knee during rehearsal.
And if Shannon stayed, then his dad was going to have to be her partner. At the end of the show he was on a crutch. They said he'd had an MRI and would be out for 6 weeks.

Kate was horrible - so hoping she would go home. She needs some pointers on how to act while in front of the camera - she seemed mad and didn't smile.

I think she was terrified. To me she looked like she was on the brink of tears but was trying to hold it together.

I agree with you QCdL, and her scared look could easily be confused with as being angry.


Anyone know what dances they do next week?

They told the dancers to "tell a story" with their dance...whatever that means?

This is my first DWTS season, and it's the little bear's first prime time show (she's usually only allowed to watch shows that we DVR like Mickey Mouse or Garfield). We are loving it.

Telling a story, imho, means something more like what Pam did this week when she channeled Marilyn. She assumed a character and acted in it while performing a dance. The important part to Len is she did it without props beyond a hairstyle and elbow length gloves. In the past, dancers have used chairs, canes, hats, capes, etc. to set characters and dance. Len HATES that!

Some of the pros will, of course, go down that road and challenge Len. I think you'll probably see one of the best story telling dances out of Evan and Anna because he's used to telling stories with his skating routines. I'm curious to see what Derek & Nicole come up with and if she can actually act and dance at the same time. Kate, imo, is toast. She can't dance. She doesn't entertain. She is, unfortunately, way out of her comfort zone and that's killing her.

Kate is just plain sad, and difficult to watch. But she wasn't even in the bottom two!

I thought the prop of having a guy near the stage watching Erin through a peephole was in poor taste.

They need to send poor Buzz Aldrin home. I'm afraid they are going to make him do the "Moon Walk" since he walked on the moon. That would be so painful to watch!

Of course, Evan was very good, as well as Erin and Nicole.

I'm done watching. It was better last night for some, but others were terrible. I absolutely cannot watch Buzz or Kate, but they'll probably survive. Chad has really let me down. I never would have dreamed he would be so stiff.

Even the contestants and pros don't seem to care any more. I was very upset with the judges giving good marks to a team that CLEARLY broke the rules over and over and had no respect for the rules of the competition. Lifts, ignoring the dance style they were assigned, etc.

Kate needs to be put out of her misery.

Nicole was the best, but got lower scores for not doing a traditional quickstep. Her partner should know better.

Nicole danced the WORST quickstep. If you can't folow the rules, you should be docked points, and frankly, she was not docked points by two of the judges. An 8 and a 9 on a quickstep that was not a quickstep?!

True - she did not deserve the 9 she got from Bruno.

Next week they start getting 2 scores from the judges - one for technique and one for performance. Hopefully that will rectify some of the audience voting problems.

Doesn't it seem like the "stars" are arguing with the "pros" more this year??? Either this group seems to think that since they are stars they don't have to follow what the pro says or at minimum fuss and argue OR the show has decided to air these disputes this year and they happen all the time. Don't know which but I find it irritating.

Kate needs to go home, that women can't dance even a tiny bit!! At least Buzz seems to be trying, I think it's more his age and the fact that he has to analys everything too much.
