We received a request from a customer wanting us to remove the negative information we had reported to credit bureaus on him. He stated that the information is accurate, he was just asking us to remove it as a courtesy gesture of goodwill?? We are not going to do this, but do we have any obligation to him un FCRA? Thanks in advance.

That is exactly my question as well. I received a Goodwill Request today that sounds very similar to yours. Any advice is appreciated.

The goodwill would be to waive the late charge on the payment(s) that was/were past due. If the customer gets a loan somewhere else based on false or misleading info that you provided, then that loan goes bad, you've caused harm to another lender.
