Would like to hear from other banks. For non officers, hourly wage employees, what is your vacation policy, i.e. 2 weeks after first year, increases to 3 weeks after 10 years, 4 weeks after 20 years, etc. Also, any "personal" or sick days?

Same topic, but for next ups, i.e. maybe salaried but not officers and then officers. Not interested in Executives.

Management (VP's and up) 1st January 1st 2 Weeks, 3rd January 1st 3 Weeks, 6th January 1st 4 Weeks.

Officers: 1st January 1st 2 Weeks, 4th January 1st 3 Weeks, 11th Janaury 1st 4 Weeks.

Staff: 1st January 1st 2 Weeks, 5th January 1st 3 Weeks, 13th January 1st 4 weeks.

News hires received prorated vacation during their year of hire. So no one has to wait a year for vacation.

We lump everything into PTO....no leave in the first 90 days..after that it is earned at a rate of almost a day for every two weeks (FT) worked. It works out to about 22 days for new employees and increases at year 5 to just over a day for every two weeks worked...that's 24 days/year.

no one under the executive level receives more than 26 days/year.

anything left at the end of the year goes into a sick bank. To access that, you must be out 3 + days with a doctor's excuse.

I wanted the most current trends possible, but I'll search for similar threads anyways. We're looking at policies for non-officer/exempt staff. Looks like its still all over the place.

And it will be as long as you continue to ask in this forum, since it is a national forum. What we offer here in Wisconsin, and down in Texas, may likely not be the trend in your area.

Ther are so many considerations that go into this that we even vary from the banks down the block including, staff tenure, staffing needs, business model, legacy considerations, and so on.

You would be best served by seeking out your local SHRM group.. they will either have this data for your local, or can help point you in the right direction.

Remember, any free analysis is worth exactly what you paid for it.

I agree with JJ and your biggest employment competitors may not even be banks.

Good points. Our policies are old. Most non-banks in the area have more generous vacation packages. I just wanted to see if any bank is still asking people to wait 10 years prior to a 3rd week....and we are not alone as indicated above.

Here, all employees must work 6 months to get 1 week vacation (depends on hire date if you can take it during first calendar year or not). Must work 3 full years to get 2 weeks of vacation. 10 full years to get 3 weeks. 20 full years to get 4 weeks.

6 paid sick days per year for everyone. Bank officers get 12 paid sick days per year. No sick days roll over - "use it or lose it" during that calendar year.

Zero personal days. Zero comp days. Zero floating days.

10 (same as Federal Reserve) paid holidays per year (this is new this year for us - we used to get only the big ones i.e. Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, Labor Day).

10 paid holidays, 2 personal days per year-cannot carry over; 6 sick days per year (no dr. excuse required but must be personal illness or illness of one for which you are the primary care giver) that accrue until 90 days when disability pay takes over; vacation 2 wks. with 1-9 years service; 3 wks. with 10-24 years service; 4 wks. with 25+ years service; vacation days do not carry over; Additional days = $4 donation per payday to United Way gets you 1 day off; $2 donation per payday gets you 1/2 day off; participating in the state banking association sponsored wellness program gets you 1 day off. There is no distinction between exempt and non, just length of service.
