Why does it seem fitting that 5 OFAC sanctioned countries are competing?

come on down PB - our WC viewing parties are in great demand. We generally set up TVs in multiple rooms, segregated by which team you are pulling for. For the US v England match, we're going to a friends house who is English by birth and American by choice, where he will have a 15 foot projection screen set up for the match. His pool house is set up like a sports bar with 9 TVs, plus the big screen, and there will likely be around 150 rabid viewers taking part...burgers, dogs, chili, jambalaya, briscuit, boudin, gumbo already on the menu...oh, and plenty of cold beer

I can't explain why, but my money is on Germany this year.

Although, as usual, I'll be rooting for my favorite team - the Netherlands! laugh I loved them as a child, when Gullit was their star player - I loved him! So I like rooting for the guys in orange.

It would be pretty cool for South Africa to win, too.

I like the guys in orange, too (I have an orange shirt to wear when they play!). I'm something of a Van Der Sar groupie.(Although I'm not sure how to spell his name!)

Edwin van Der Sar

If Arjen Robben is on his game, Clockwork Orange could go far...but I don't think they're deep enough to win it all.

I totally agree. It would make me happy to see them go all the way though! wink

Like I said, my money is on Germany, but I do not like them so I hope my gut feeling is wrong.

i thought van der Sar retired from internationals. anyway, they looked good in a friendly against the US. Babel and Kuyt coming off subpar club seasons with Liverpool should have plenty in the tank.

I just like when the anouncers say "Bastian Schweinsteiger" and do so with the Colonel Clink accent...

I don't think the Germans will go far, they don't have a good keeper...
