There a few artists out there that are no longer with us and I know there's a few that I would've loved to have seen live. For me they are: 1. Queen (my biggest regret while Freddy was alive) 2. Stevie Ray Vaughn (Need I say more) 3. The Doors (Just because it would've been a trip) What about you?
Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin...the list goes on and on...

The Beatles.
Sam Kinison (who I saw once).
Chicago with Peter Cetera (might come back, probably won't).

Amen Mr. C - he would be on the top of my list - can't believe I put Sonny & Cher above him - what an idiot I am. I will also then add The Beatles and Marvin Gaye. I would add Michael Jackson since I don't know if he/she will perform again, except for the fact that I have already seen him in concert.

Mozart solo on piano.
David solo on his harp right after killing a lion with his sling.
Sam Cooke at the Copa.
Lynyrd Skynyrd's original line-up.
The Beatles (without all the screaming teenagers--if that were possible. Maybe in the studio.)
My grandfather, with his harmonica, fiddle, or guitar playing old-timey songs or humorous songs.
My great grandmother on piano one more time at Christmas.
Chicago--before Terry Kath's death.
Django Reinhardt with Stephane Grappelli.
Les Paul (he is still alive, but I don't know if I'll get the chance before he leaves us.)
Bing Crosby.
Fred Astaire. (Dancing and singing)
Hank Williams.
Irving Berlin.
Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis (in their prime).
Guy Lombardo (on New Years Eve)
The list goes on and on....
P.S. Sorry, but I am so not a Sinatra fan! I can't figure out why I don't like him and at the same time can't see what everyone else is so ga-ga about.

I can't believe I forgot Skynyrd and the original Van Halen. Shame on me.

Loreena McKennitt. She is still alive and well, I just don't know if she is going to perform ever again...

Great Question - It made me think.
The following in no particular order.
1. The Beatles
2. The Who
3. Van Morrison (Does not Tour)
4. Queen
5. Dire Straits
6. Frank Sinatra
7. Harry Chapin
8. Steve Goodman
I'll probably think of more after a few at Cleabatsu's.

J. Bruce - I think we'll get an opportunity to hear Rich Mullins live someday. Just not on this earth. I can't wait!

I'm surprised none of you have said Warren Zevon. I'm not really a fan of his music (because I haven't ever really listened to it, not because I don't like it). I saw a show on VH1 the other day about the making of his last album. I got the impression that he really wanted to do this last album because it was his way of saying the things he needed to say to the people he needed to say them to. I found it very interesting.

Elvis Presley. If a genie gave me three wishes, one of them would be to see Elvis' 1968 Comeback Special live and in person. Sigh, if only.

I very much agree with each of these but would also include the Doors in that list

Did not say Warren Zevon because I have heard him live--just the man and his piano. It was around 1994 or 1995.
Another I just thought of:
The Police.
Lloyd Cole and the Commotion (he's still around, but the Commotion are through)
