Ellisa, I'm so sorry Jose is in so much pain. I hope they're able to give him some comfort.

I'm sorry to hear this! I pray that the Lord will guide him and his doctors to make the best decisions and to minimize his pain as much as possible.

Good and bad news.

Jose's psa levels dropped drastically with radiation. He's still got stage four cancer, but they have plans to try to do the surgery on his prostate again when the wound specialist is done with him.

Bad news:

His wife, my mother in law, was just diagnosed with uterine cancer. Don't have a whole lot of information on her yet, we just found out on Friday.

Thank you for all your prayers for Jose, please keep him and my mother in law in your future prayers.

Wow, Munque! What a double-punch! My pastor was saying yesterday that there are times when we want to ask God if He really thinks we can carry the burdens He allows. The answer, of course, is yes....but God doesn't expect us to carry them alone. He is always with us, guiding us, protecting us, and strengthening us. I pray that you will feel that and that you will be blessed. i also pray for your family...for healing...for grace...for peace.

My mother in law is doing well, she had a complete hysterectomy and they believe all the cancer was taken out. They found some nodes on her thyroid and she's getting testing done for that now, but all in all she's good.

Jose was admitted back into the hospital yesterday with extremely low blood pressure, and he's been having what feels like really bad acid reflux starting from the bottom of his rib cage, initially they thought it was due to dehydration, now they are looking into the cancer or his heart to be the cause.

I am also having surgery for a prolapsed uterus and a prolapsed bladder in less than 2 weeks. On top of that, my husbands ex-wife/my step kids mother has called child protective services on us for no other reason than the fact that we have full custody of the kids and they are happy and she can't stand it.

My family and I are in a very fragile state right now. Please keep us in your thoughts and my wonderful father in law in your prayers.

Update:

They released Jose from the hospital yesterday, said he had hypertension and acid reflux... He had a heart attack last night. He's in the hospital again now waiting on a second set of blood panels to come back and then they are going to try to find a blockage, they are going to do everything they can without opening him up because the cancer tends to spread when you open someone up. But as of right now they can't get his pulse above 43. That's all we know right now.

The damage from Jose's heart attack was a lot worse than they thought. They put him for surgery Saturday morning, triple bypass. It didn't work, so they did quad bypass, it didn't work, so they went in for a fifth (which I didn't even think they could do) but with a fifth bypass there is a 5% mortality rate. So they called the chaplain because there was a very slim chance of him making it. Well, the fifth bypass worked. They said if he could make it through the night then he should be ok. He coded that night and was dead for about 15 minutes and they brought him back. Last night, they had him sitting up in a chair, he's talking now, and although he's in a lot of pain, he's going to be ok. All the nurses and doctors in the ICU were amazed at the recovery, nobody thought he would make it. The nurses said in a couple of days he will be a walking, talking miracle.
So now we only need to work on getting his strength built back up so he can have surgery for his cancer.

Jose is a very lucky man, this is the second time he's cheated death. Thank you so much for all your prayers.
