I finished Mockingjay last week. It was the final book of the Hunger Games trilogy. Very good series if you get a chance to read it.

I just started reading The Cost of Discipleship, by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Last Friday, I was at a breakfast where Eric Metaxas spoke. He just published a biography of Bonhoeffer this year. Fascinating speaker! Now I can't wait to read the biography.

Yeah, they're pretty interchangeable as far as plotlines go, but I'm enjoying them. I wouldn't want to marathon the whole series in one run though - I think it would get tiresome.

I read the biography this summer. Excellent read! I highly recommend it. Let me know how it goes with "the Cost of Discipleship". I tried a couple of years ago, but at that time couldn't get thru it. German translated into English is difficult sometimes.

I just finished that, califgirl. I loved it. Better than the second one, IMO.

Better than the second one? Wow, it must be good! Only about 25% of the way through. I thought I would miss having page numbers and actually seeing how much of the book I have left, but the Kindle shows you the percentage of completion. Pretty cool!

I'm just about done with The Unlikely Disciple by Kevin Roose. It has been a highly entertaining read. It's about a kid who grew up in a left-leaning, aanti-Christian environment who decides to spend a semester at Jerry Falwell's Liberty University- just to see what it's like...

Just picked up a collection of short stories called On the Prowl on my lunch hour so I can get started on Patricia Brigg's Alpha and Omega series.

So what did you think? I had it in my hand this weekend but decided not to make the purchase until I heard what you had to say. smile

Ha! I picked it up and read the cover but decided to wait and hear the official review.

I thought it was better than the last couple of Stephanies have been, but otherwise was sort of 'Stephanie Light.' Short, easy, with a few LOL moments. It was OK, but I doubt I'll be buying any more of them in hardback on release day. It read more like one of her earlier short romance novels and I wasn't really all that thrilled with those.

I really enjoyed Sibella Giorello's book, "The Rivers Run Dry". she is a relatively new author. Need to get her 1st book - "the stones cry out". Her main character is a detective with the FBI - forensic geologist. Good read.

I started it Saturday evening and almost finished it yesterday. It is easy reading and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Diesel is back as is Carl the monkey from one of the Stephanie books. It does have some laugh out loud moments.

The Autobiography of Ben Franklin. Let's just say that dust was coming out of my Kindle the book was so dry. I finished it, but there might have been some skimming involved.
