Ok- so I see a headline asking "Are Silly Bandz Just A Fad?" and I want to ask the author if they really thought they would heirlooms. Sheesh.

They are 'bracelets' for kids. They're thin and you get a bunch of them in a package and they are different shapes <i.e. animals, flowers, etc.>. I read something on the Internet about them about a month ago. Kids are putting too many on their arms because they're 'cool' and cutting off the circulation to their hands.

The price here has gone from 3 packages for a dollar to $2.50 a package during the course of this frenzy. They are kind of fun. I just thought it was funny that the question was posed so seriously in the article. Really, any of you still have your jelly bracelets to pass on for posterity? Of course they're a fad, you silly reporter! The big question is what will be next 'cause I'm getting some early and beat the price jump! LOL!

I saw the silly band title and thought maybe this should be combined with the iron maiden thread

i am thankful that my girls are little...they are perfectly happy with the "knock-off" shaped rubber bands. (Ollies 1.29 for 24)

But these are a big deal at the daycare....and the girls take them VERY seriously!!

I'm happy that it's something cheap and manageable...i know it won't be forever!

They're the dumbest things ever. My daughter (nearly 5) was momentarily excited about them. eek We bought her a package after she got a few at a friend's birthday party. Thankfully she grew tired of them after about an hour...

I remember working in a gift/flower shop back in the late 90s during the Beanie Babies and Pokemon Cards craze. We stocked them and whenever we got a shipment, we had a crowd of crazed moms busting through our doors demanding to see which Beanie Babies we got. Ugh...

I took my grand-daughter clothes shopping for her birthday. She wanted some silly bandz and have you seen the bottle cap necklaces? We had to have those too. The stores also have mood nail polish that changes color like the mood rings I use to wear.

It is funny how things repeat themselves.

I sure wish I had thought of the silly band thing. I would be a millionaire. My grandchildren, evem the 3 year old, always have a whole armful on at one time. Of course I buy them for them every time I see something new. And Zoo Mama is right the price keeps going up. I paid $3.99 for some Pitssburgh Steeler ones.

Okay - so you can put a Silly Bandz on your Beanie Babies while they are playing with Pogs.

Throw in a Furby and a Cabbage Patch Doll and you're on your way to junk collectors heaven of outdated fads!

Hey! My kids still play with cabbage patch dolls. What's a pog?

My girls have twilight and other random vampire silly bandz. Two fads in one. Yeah buddy, that makes them like totally super cool.
