Go here for an interactive personal exploration and self-improvement "test" - well not really a test, but an exploration of how you think and deal with stuff.

My rating was:
Auditory: 50%
Visual: 50%
Left: 47%
Right: 52%

Within the summary: "You are one of those individuals who are perfectly "balanced" in both your hemispheric tendencies and your sensory learning preferences."

It continued with both good and bad news.

Interesting test! My results were equally interesting. I was not surprised that I am visual. I tend to learn better visually. I have to draw pictures when things are presented to my in words alone!

I had to laugh at this comment about me:

"You tend to see things in "wholes" without surrendering the ability to attend to details. You can give them sufficient notice to be able to utitlize and incorporate them as part of an overall pattern. (I need my BSA staff to take this test!)

In the same way, while you are active and process information simultaneously, you demonstrate a capacity for sequencing as well as reflection which allows for some "inner dialogue."

All in all, you are likely to be quite content with yourself and your style although at times it will not necessarily be appreciated by others."

The last paragraph was an amusing way to end a stressful week!

Hey Kaybee, that's what it said about me! I'd be surprised if all compliance/audit type folks don't know how to work with the "wholes". It's the "holes" that don't want to work with us!

Now when someone asks me - "Do I need to draw you a picture?" I can respond - "Yes, I'm right brained and auditory impaired!"

That is really weird, I thought I was right-brained...

"Maria, you are somewhat left-hemisphere dominant with a balanced preference for auditory and visual inputs. Because of your "centrist" tendencies, the distinctions between various types of brain usage are somewhat blurred."

LOL!!! Blurred brain usage... how funny... back to Cleabatsu's.

I went one way, Dan went the other, I stepped on his toe and managed to knock you off your stool...you were out for quite awhile. Stop by Cleabatsu's and I'm sure Mr. C. can hook you up with some ice.

p.s.--I'd advise against asking me to dance.

"With regards to your career choices, you have a mentality that would be good as a scientist, coach, athlete, design consultant, or an engineering technician. You possess an interesting balance of hemispheric and sensory characteristics, with a slight right-brain dominance and a slight preference for visual processing.

Since neither of these is completely centered, you lack the indecision and second-guessing associated with other patterns. You have a distinct preference for creativity and intuition with seemingly sufficient verbal skills to be able to translate in any meaningful way to yourself and others.

That's right - in summary - it's ALL ABOUT ME!!

Mr. C, you are mildly left-hemisphere dominant while showing a slight preference for auditory processing. This overall combination seems to indicate a well-working blend of logic and judgment and organization, with sufficient intuition, perception and creativity to balance that dominance.

Preferentially you learn by listening and maintaining significant internal dialogues with yourself. Nevertheless, you have sufficient visualization capabilities to benefit from using graphs, charts, doodles, or even body movement to enhance your comprehension and memory.

To the extent that you are even implicitly aware of your hemispheric dominance and sensory style, you will feel most comfortable in those arenas which emphasize verbal skills and logic. Teaching, law, and science are those that stand out among the professions, along with technical sales and management

So I talk to myself huh??

You prefer the abstract and are a theoretician at heart while retaining the ability to be practical. You find the symbolism in a great deal of what you encounter and are something of a "mystic."

Mystic???? That's a good one!!
