Anyone have any that they love and that I should look in to?

Also, I'm creating a new procedure for the bank, are commercial loans with an abundance of caution on an investment property reportable? My gut says yes, but my head says, ugh.

Can't help on the software, we use the FFIEC software.

Abundance of caution does not exempt it from HMDA reporting, flood, or if applicable RESPA, Reg Z or any other regulation.

The only thing abundance of caution does is it avoids some appraisal requirements.

I heard that the FFIEC software can be difficult to use. Have you had any problems with it?

I used the FFIEC software for several years, and I didn't think it was difficult at all. Best of all, it's free.

The FFIEC software is very easy to use and has a great help file that would help anyone trying to report for HMDA. You do not have to enter loans one by one, you can import a properly set up dat file following the specs that are published on the ffiec website.

I thought you had to use the FFIEC software unless you were submitting on paper.

Angelina, look at your loan processing system and see if it has the ability to produce a LAR. If it does, you can just export it into the FFIEC software as Kay mentioned above.

Truff, there are software packages that you can purchase for HMDA data collection and management. I believe they all interface with the FFIEC software for the submission process.

We have been using RATA for a few years now, and have been very happy with it... the customer service is astounding, and the product itself is fairly easy to use.

The interfacing with FFICE was what I referring to. Our loan processing software produces the LAR so I don't need any other software. The only other thing I do is export the LAR into a HMDA pivot table for scrubbing. No extra cost to my FI at all.
